Will be interesting to see how Pollock fairs in dev camp relative to other forwards like Poirier and Shink.

I've got
1. Tkachuk - last time on prospects list
2. Gillies - still great upside
3. Anderrsson - solid season
4. Jankowski - makes my top five for first time
5. Shinkaruk - looks ready
6. Kylington - good AHL season, good progress
7. Wotherspoon - NHL ready but maybe no room
8. Kulak - nearly ready
9. Hathaway - could make the Flames
10. Mangiapane - scoring little rat

Not sure how it could be. Tkachuk is up there with Monahan/Bennett in terms of calibre and nobody else in the system comes close. Should be a landslide.

2015 Prospect Rankings Summary

Refresher from last summer, interesting to see the changes year to year.

Also the final poll on the "maginot" line from last summer (point where actual prospects become suspects in a long list of players)

Last year's cut off point by vote was 14.9, I had it at 17.

I've been busy with summer plans and family for the last week, so it's all been from a distance for me.

Keeps donning on me that Calgary got Tkachuk out of that draft. I was really steeling myself for the Nylander/Juolevi picks.

Weird. Fine in Web Browser, Tapatalk links me to a thread about Prust likely going back to junior and a poster totally nailed what Prust was going to be after watching him in London

Hoping Brayden Burke gets added to this list
(IF he signs, during/after dev camp)

I was just thinking the same, he seems to be the forgotten man since the trade. 20 year old 6'3" centre, we only really have junior stats on him though. Will be nice to see how he fits in at the next level.

So here is my starting point ...

Let the debate about age, status as a prospect versus an established player, and omissions begin!

Forwards

Andrew Mangiapane
Austin Carroll
Brett Pollock
Daniel Pribyl
Dillon Dube
Eetu Tuulola
Emile Poirier
Freddie Hamilton
Garnet Hathaway
Hunter Shinkaruk
Hunter Smith
Linus Lindstrom
Mark Jankowski
Matthew Phillips
Matthew Tkachuk
Mitchell Mattson
Morgan Klimchuk
Pavel Karnaukhov
Tim Harrison

Defensemen

Adam Fox
Adam Ollas Mattsson
Brandon Hickey
Brett Kulak
Keegan Kanzig
Kenney Morrison
Oliver Kylington
Rasmus Andersson
Riley Bruce
Rushan Rafikov
Ryan Culkin
Stepan Falkovsky
Tyler Wotherspoon

Goaltenders

David Rittich
Jon Gillies
Mason McDonald
Nick Schneider
Tyler Parsons
Still a fairly attractive list of prospects, despite Monahan, Bennett & Gaudreau graduating recently.

Tkachuk should land the prize as top dog, but Andersson & Mangiapane are actually exceptionally good prospects who should be considered right up there.

I'm very interested to see where Jankowski & Kylington are ranked, as their ceilings are much higher than most, but they are far from dead certainties to play in the NHL.

Gillies is still top goalie prospect, but this is a HUGE year for him. Lots to prove after missing most of last season. I've always rated Mason McDonald highly, and I like Parsson's pedigree a lot. We actually have 3 potential number 1 goalies there.

I think this is perfect. Completely agree.

The top 10 looks pretty good compared to recent years. It's nice having a mix of D, forwards, and even a goalie. I'm sure one of more of our recent picks will jump into the top 10 next year. Also nice seeing Jankowski move up.

Prospects always look promising this time of year. In hindsight, you can look at previous years and see the relative strength of that particular year but it will never look as good as the current crop.
IMO the fun in this exercise is comparing the current year prospects and see who moves up or down year to year.

So you guys think Tkachuck will make it this year? On the radio, his dad thinks he needs but seasoning but he said his son is very determined to make the team this year

Couldn't comment on the but seasoning, but if he outplays everyone for a spot on the roster I don't see why he couldn't learn things on the fly with the NHL club.

He'll probably be competing with Shinkaruk, Poirier, Jankowski, Klimchuk & Mangiapane for a roster spot. If he outplays all those guys then he deserves to stick with the Flames. If he doesn't then I don't see much harm in him going back to London. He's only had one year in the OHL, right? Despite dominating the league as a rookie he probably still has a few things he could learn there should he end up not making the final cut.

What seasoning? Is... that like the stuff you put on Onion Rings at A&W?
