Yes it is only pre-season, but wow. Took over that 3rd period.
I was not happy about letting him go.

I was disappointed he never got a good shot here... Over cooked in the AHL till the player gives up on the team... Prompting his release after which he is quickly snatched by another team who sees his true value ... So for those he say you can't overcook players in the A.... Poirier is the next to fall.

A victim of Hartleys system?

lol

Let's wait until Agostino plays more than one exhibition game before we anoint him a missed opportunity.

Maybe he benefitted from playing a pre-season game against the second-most incompetent organization in the entire league.

We may never know.

Pretty impressive for 11:04 of game time.

At this rate, 600 goals and 1300 points should be pretty easy to obtain...

Agostino was the definition of meh. Will never be more than a depth call-up.

He scored 3 goals against the CBJ split-squad team. No reason to be worked up over that.

I think he'll make it as an NHLer.

He won't be a star, but I think he'll play full-time in the big show for a few seasons.

Some of us were not happy when he wasn't qualified. All he did is lead the farm club in points in 2 consecutive years in his first 2 professional seasons. I don't think he ever looked out of place when he saw NHL time either. He's got a good shot, skates well and thinks the game very well. And yeah it is just a split squad preseason game, but even a 5 point game in the AHL is impressive.

TBH i don't think he ever had NHL speed or an NHL shot. I was a little surprised he wasn't retained, but a lot of kids were let go at the same time, so it was a clearly a house cleaning. Coming college hockey you have to make your impression quickly since you're older than all the other pros. For Gaudreau and Jankowski it worked out, for Agostino and Arnold it didn't. For better or worse Treliving made room for younger prospects. You can do that when your cupboards aren't bare.

Like Ortio he's a dime a dozen player in NHL organizations. Good hockey player but nothing outstanding to set him apart from lots of AHL caliber players that are fringe NHLers at best.

Yep. at some point, you need your callups to do more than not look out of place. Especially at 24 years old.

Kenny had time to show what he was capable of in a Flames jersey. He failed to impress the brass.
