2 years at $2.5 million. Think it's clear the Flames just didn't want him if they couldn't at least match that.

Flames didn't give him a QO so yes a UFA. Saved us arbitration issues.

Kerr nailed it. The Flames had decided they were moving on from Colborne.

Good luck Joe. Got to realize one childhood dream by playing here, now probably gets another one by playing with Iggy.

Will always remember his reaction and how emotional he was the night the Flames clinched the playoffs.

Wait...that's peanuts. The Flames must have been really low-balling him.

What. The. Fu....

How could Calgary have not made this exact offer? Now I'm pissed.

I would have liked to see the Flames sign this deal instead of the one they gave to Brouwer. Kind of disappointing.

Which I have no issue with, sometimes you have to know what you have in someone and move on if you feel it's not going in the direction of Team Vision.

My understanding is that once Brouwer was signed, Flames decided to move on from Colborne.

Yeap, that contract confirms that the Flames had no interest in keeping Joe once they got Brouwer especially.
