He has some pretty consistent numbers going all the way back. Seems like a very reliable backup than can give you 25 solid games per season.
A 1 year deal is pretty much zero risk.

great contract.
kudos BT for fixing the goaltending situation quickly. Elliott/Johnson is a HUGE upgrade to everything we've had post Kipper.

Good signing. 45 games last season with a mediocre Buffalo team and he still put up a .920% sv.
So he gives you at the very least a good backup option who can also play 30-40 games if Elliott can't handle the workload.
Our tandem next season looks way way better than last seasons. Very happy.

1.7 mill for a goalie that can play 25 game is definetely worth it. Other than his time with the Islander, Chan Johnson has been great.
So unless Smid is done, Colborne is gone?
