Welcome to the league, Grats.

I was curious about the type of salary that the Brittish Elite League pays players so I did some research. I came across this blog that I thought was quite interesting.
https://www.shnarped.com/blog/2014/1...players-report
I have always been a tad perplexed why SOME players who are earning $100-200k a year in the AHL don't consider Europe more often? Is it a matter of officially killing the dream? Given the choice between busing it around some small AHL town for $100k a year or perhaps living in a world class city like Prague, Bern, Helsinki etc etc and making a little more? Seems strange to me but hey, what do I know?

This all reminds me of Theo's first game with Belfast. 3 goals, 4 assists and 2 fights.

Players in the UK would make the equivalent of $50,000 to probably $125,000 Canadian. They would also get housing paid for plus a car to drive. Cardiff also has spots for four players per year to get an MBA tuition free while they are there. So when you add it all up, it's a pretty good lifestyle and much more time with the family since we really only play on weekends and because everything is close by, you usually sleep at home even after road games. Not a hard sell.

I could see BigErn signing for a UK team this year. A lot of appeal for players wanting to see the Uk, stop off in Ireland and tour Europe next summer. Just gutted he won't make it over in time for the Braehead Nottingham game tomorrow which I'm at. Standard has been increasing massively over the last 5 years as attendances grow .
