Okay, that fills us up. Every team is accounted for.
  • Otto-Matic : Rita & Yvette / Steph & Kristen
  • csnarpy : Joel & Ashley / Frankie & Amy
  • Fuzz : Steph & Kristen / Jillian & Emmett
  • Superflyer : Frankie & Amy / Julie & Lowell
  • getbak : Anthony & Brandon / Joel & Ashley
  • EldrickOnIce : Jillian & Emmett / Anthony & Brandon
  • GirlySports : Julie & Lowell / Kelly & Kate
  • mile : Kelly & Kate / Stéphane & Antoine
  • Amethyst : Stéphane & Antoine / Anne & Tanya
  • You Need a Thneed : Anne & Tanya / Rita & Yvette

Anthony & Brandon were pretty stupid taking the penalty, but they did get screwed over a bit when the teams didn't have to do the gondola challenge. There's no way some of those teams would have been able to do it on the first try. If they were actually in the final hour of their penalty when the final teams checked in, they might have survived if one of those teams had to do the gondola at least twice.

It was weird how Julie and Lowell were the last team to leave the last challenge, then suddenly they showed up ahead of all the other teams with no explanation.

I think the explanation was that the other two teams were so lost!

Jasper is tiny. How did they get lost?

Not bad. My father and son did okay and my team that I didn't have much hope for survived week one.

The places they went are outside the town, in different directions from the town.

Yeah, but they passed another team too.

It was edited strangely. It goes from Frankie & Amy on their way to the Pit Stop; cuts to Julie finally finding the clue and them leaving in last place, complaining about the day they've had; then, it cuts back to Frankie & Amy coming up to the Pit Stop and they see Julie & Lowell ahead of them. I rewound it because it seemed like I missed something.

Yeah, they got screwed. And while I do get playing strategicly - you are two young men in good physical shape. This should be a challenge you can manage without taking that risk. If you can't do this, I guess you weren't lasting long anyway.

taking a penalty 15 minutes after another team took a penalty is also risky, now you're just racing them. They probably figured they could take 2 girls.

Yeah. Good point. If you are taking a penalty after someone, you better do it immediately instead - and make it straight up head to head.

I'm amazed that Emmett didn't drown Jillian in the Athabasca. Not shocking that they're exes.

We were surprised that he didn't just drop her off from the boat, and just keep paddling. That was the second time she had a breakdown 28 minutes into the show.

Yeah - with my one team out already, and the exes as my first pick, I've obviously made a huge mistake.

It was bizarre that the two friends would take the penalty, although I see the strategy going into that decision. Tough challenge to kick off the race though.

Next week is filmed in Calgary! Looks like another intense set of roadblocks.

Can't help but wonder if Emmett is second guessing the decision to race with her. That was just absurd. Like Brendan and Rachel but the Rachel appears to be even crazier in this race.

They always include a team like this as it makes for good TV to see them arguing all the time.

Amazing Race Canada -- we don't take you to interesting destinations, but give you crazy tasks.

-Letting everyone get a free pass on the gondola detour was really lame, and unfair for the two teams who assessed its difficulty and strategically took a penalty. That should have been handled better.

-Mad props to the lesbian/softball girl who did the monkey bars, got her feet tangled in the ladder, and still got herself up. Very impressive.

-Still unsure if squeaky Asian team is really cute or really annoying. Possibly both.
