How is this gong show any different than every other summer? The wait for the draft is always excruciating and filled with stupid meaningless threads. That's what CP does in the summer. Gong show party.
Fleury is good enough, but would only be stop gap solution between now and when the team is a contender. I would rather them try to find a long term solution if possible.
Also, I don't think Pitts trades him. I think they try to go into next year with Murray and Fleury to repeat.
Also, Fleury has a NTC so there is that obstacle as well.

I would be ok with the Flames acquiring Fleury, cost pending of course.
With that said, as others have mentioned he seems like he would be a bit of a stop gap. I'd rather the Flames find someone younger with untapped potential who might grow into "the guy" in net. Then in a few years if Gillies ends up being as good as we hope, the Flames have a good problem on their hand.
Plus Francis brought it up and that guy is wrong about a lot of stuff.
We may have to rethink allowing everyone to start a poll but there's also something to be said for staying out of a thread that you don't find interesting. Cruddy threads get cruddier when everyone just complains about how cruddy they are.

At least this one is a good poll, what's everyone upset about? It's a valid topic.
Personally, as always it depends on cost, but Fluery is someone that never gets the credit he deserves. I voted yes. However, I'd rather have Reimer and not have to give up assets
Considering BT was targeting Jones, Talbot and Murray, I'd say Fleury is not on their radar because they are going after younger players with lower cap $
Plans can change.
A good GM would reevaluate his plan once significant events occurred that affected his plan.

I'm hoping TB re-signs Stamkos, putting themselves into cap hell, allowing us pry Bishop away from them at a reasonable price. I'd also be happy with F. Andersen. Fleury would be my 3rd choice. Those playoff meltdowns are burned in my brain.
Otherwise the polls are boring. Way too much thought goes into creating the perfect poll when you restrict it and you end up with polls that are the equivalent of "Favorite shade of brown: () tan or () beige.
Keep it away from 1 month or 6 month newbs and let everyone else have at it.
Bad polls and bad posts fall off the first page real quick when the responses are in single digits. Lots of grumpy old men in this thread.

Renaud Lavoie was suggesting today that the Canes re-signed Ward because teams have been told Fleury is not on the market and that they and the Flames were showing interest in MAF
Maybe not horrible, but definitely something less than good. He is a lower level starter in the league. He would be an upgrade over Hiller, maybe Ramo, but if faith is placed in Ortio I think he can play at a Fleury+ level, and given his youth he can only be expected to grow with experience. The big factor is whether or not his mates have confidence in Ortio to the point where they don"t spend energy worrying about what is going on behind them. If they do then open camp with him, if not then the Flames will probably have to overpay in some fashion to obtain a quality starter.
It is no fluke that the year he is out and replaced by a 22 year old rookie the Pens win the cup.
