LOL that would be a perfect way to troll Canucks fans if that were to happen.

The main reason we would NEVER want to do that is because it would get the Stars out of the goalie hell they are in.

Suddenly they only have Niemi, and now we are fighting with both them and Toronto for our starter.

It would have to happen after we got our starter but than, why do Dallas any favours.

Part of the reason for walking away from their UFA's is due to their ridiculous depth of defensive prospects that are ready for the NHL.

Definitely don't want any of Dallas' goalies. Neither are good.

Looks like the gamble payed off:

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Alex Goligoski's visit to ARI is over. ARI met with Goligoski's agent Ben Hankinson. Deal not done (yet) but Goligoski thoroughly impressed.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
It should come as no surprise if Goligoski takes himself out of UFA and signs a five-year deal with the Coyotes in near future.

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC
Alex Goligoski's new contract in ARIZ will be five years at just below $5.5M AAV.

I don't know much of Goligoski... is he really worth $5.5M? That seems like $2M more than I had him pegged at in my mind.

Another contract that makes Brodie's look like the amazing deal that it is.
When do we have to worry about him getting paid?

He's a proven top 4 defenseman, it seems pretty in line. Petry got $5.5mx6 last year and he's not a top pairing guy either.

Four more years.

This contract also makes the Dougie contract look pretty good as well.

Brodie has 4 more years at $4.65M.

Phenomenal.

There are 48 defencemen with more higher cap hits than TJ Brodie.

interesting, Arizona was on his list of teams he wasn't willing to go to in his previous limitied NTC

Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
GM John Chayka says it's a huge step for #Coyotes to convince Alex Goligoski to sign for 5 years not long after they were on no-trade list.

Wow, that's really good negotiating. Wonder if it was Chayka doing it.

From a Flames fan perspective Brodie's contract is great. From a neutral perspective he should probably fire his agent. He should have done much better than the contract he got.

I'm rooting for Chayka. Would be a good story to see a young guy do well against the odds.
