Are you kidding??? The parents are totally to blame here. I feel bad for them but they are morons for letting their two year old go into that area when anyone with half a brain can read the signs or just common damn sense tells you how dangerous that is. This was something that never should have happened and it pisses me off that a 2 year old lost his life because his parents are morons.

If we don't try to get to the bottom of what happened and why it happened, then it could potentially happen again.

Tragically, that's much better than the alternative, at least the parents have a modicum of closure.

Sure, why hold the parents accountable because they tragically lost their child? So then we should be totally ok with parents who allow a child to play near a busy freeway? Or how about a parent who leaves their child in a hot vehicle and the child dies? That doesn't matter, just feel bad for the parents. I do feel sorry for them but to say they don't own any responsibility for this is asinine.

Oh jesus, I thought that first post was sarcasm.
Get off it, that beach is a pristine place in a family theme park. Don't be a ######

You've never made one single mistake as a parent? You don't know the circumstances and yet you have decided that they are idiots who don't watch their children. 2 year olds can move pretty fast. It's a tragic heartbreaking accident.
Has absolutely nothing in common with a child left in a hot car on purpose either.

There are signs posted everywhere with multiple warnings. It doesn't matter if it is a theme park, there are still plenty of gators. Do some research before opening your mouth. I really hope you are not a parent.

There are "no swimming" signs posted in the area where the boy was taken, however, there is no signage warning visitors about the presence of alligators, a Disney spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE.

The only signs there said "no swimming". There were no specific warnings about alligators. Also it was a 4-7 foot alligator that somehow managed to sneak by the security apparatus that would otherwise stop alligators.
The size of that alligator is not that big, when you consider a lot of that is tail. It was a freak accident that required a number of things to go wrong.

There is no swimming because gators get into those areas all the time. How does a 2 year old get grabbed by an alligator unless he is not being watched?

I didn't see any gators in the lagoon when we were there in November. It was a freak accident, despite the signage stating no swimming. The beach would give people a false sense of security. Tragic all around.

You could stand on the shore looking at the water and not see one coming. They are green, the water is murky. If they were easy to spot they would have died out from lack of food.

According to CNN the boy was wading in a foot of water in the lagoon. So there are no swimming signs, lagoons in Florida are notorious for having alligators, it is a freaking 2 year old child, but I am the bad guy for questioning those parents? Really?

It didn't say anything about gators it said no swimming which could be caused by anything, maybe the water is dirty. We have no swimming signs around alberta it doesn't mean I'm going to get eaten by an alligator if I do decide to swim.
