Sure thats fair. I was responding to the "The oilers would trade Eberle for the 6th and not think twice about it". Which is wrong.

If Chiarelli isn't an idiot, it is absolutely right.

Also, 6OA would get you a better defenceman in trade than Eberle would.

Well, they would if they were competent. But they are not. And we wouldn't do it anyway, so mute point.

So trade a 25+ goal scorer for a pick that has a average chance to become that? Or hope someone is then interested in trading a D man for that pick?

Yes I realize that. But why take those risks when you can keep him and have him score goals for you and move out RNH/Hall who likely have more value?

There would have to be money coming back anyway if picks are involved.

I predict Wideman gets more goals than Yakupov this season.

As far as the trade goes I have no comment because ................ well who cares anyways.

The Oilers just got rid of a liability in Justin Schultz and they want to add an older, slower, more expensive version of him? They would be better off putting Yakupov in the press box for the entire season next year than making that move.

If Calgary had a move like that available on the table you do it in 5 seconds to unload that contract. I don't care if it's for Yakupov or John Scott.
