Boomer and Pinder talking about coaching names: Yeo, Gulutzan, and Reirden as names they are hearing.

great summary Sureloss ... listed in my car and literally have nothing to add.

I do think we will see a Gullickson announcement as early as today though.

Beyond that, more detail about how he circles the other GMs like a shark on a daily basis. Referred to how he kept after Boston last year, mentioned already on the phone today talking about a deal that was 16 months cold.

The guy just goes after it.

They're in good hands.

I hope it's Reirden. I wouldn't be disappointed with Gulutzan though.

I am not sure I want any of those 3 coaches. Maybe Reirden, really don't want Yeo.

Personally don't think it's a coincidence that it went from being no rush to it being imminent once the finals were over. Still think their guy was coaching in the finals.

If the rumours about him meeting with ownership is true it appears Glen Gulutzan will be announced as the new Flames head coach this week.

I bet that to be so, Erick.

Now watch it be someone who we have never heard of

If its Gulutzan, then my streak of mocking an NHL insider only to have him be correct leaving me looking like a moron is intact.

Stupid Garrioch.

Glen Gulutzan seems like a well spoken guy who gets it after doing a google search on him and reading some of the interviews he did and articles he wrote. I am on board if this is our man. We just have to give him some serious shower time to get the Canuck stench off him.

Are we 100% sure its one of those three? Gulutzan, Reirden and Yeo? Or are those the 3 that the radio talking heads think.

I still think Brad Shaw is a front runner that nobody has heard about since he left STL.

Brad must see something in Gulutzan that I don't. Though some fabulous pictures on google images.

Still better than Carlyle, but it's odd to fire Hartley to go out an pick Gulutzan.

Really? I'm actually the opposite. Treliving is such a well spoken and engaging guy every time they interview him, I always notice myself always paying attention and listening.

wonder if they hire before the 15th to get the new coach's (Geoff Ward) thoughts on players they may potentially buy out?

With this management group we remain sure about practically nothing. It is even highly uncertain that there is still a coaching vacancy.

Chances are high and this shouldn't be in any way alarming. He is after all a NHL general manager.

Why is it odd? Without knowing a lot about Gulutzen this is a strange stand to take.

Joe Nieuwendyk hired Gulutzan in Dallas. Under Gulutzan the Stars had great starts, but bad finishes.

The Stars also had a pretty average at best team. I thought he did fairly well.

Also it's not like we fired Hartley to hire Gulutzen outright, Hartley was fired to go through a search for a coach under a coaching profile they created.
