Solid signing of sorts - he is a free asset to the Oilers.

With that being said (and I think I mentioned this in the backburner a few weeks ago), as a Flames' fan it is not the least bit concerning. Just another undersized flashy winger for the Oilers. I am somewhat surprised that they decided to zero-in on him given how they want to become a bigger team. If he really becomes something decent, it just makes it easier to trade away Eberle or someone else. If he doesn't, then he is just another undersized tweener.

When the Oilers acquire someone, I'm quick to jump on the "This kids career is over" train.
But unlike Hall, RNH, Yak et al, who were drafted by the Oilers and had no other choice, this kid actually chose to go there.
He was able to pick from a few different teams, and he still chose Edmonton.
