At a friend's house listening to the game on the radio. I remember saying I had a feeling the Flames were going to win, and moments later Smith scored.

Wasn't it Steve Smith's birthday that day as well? I remember them saying something about it during the game.

I was almost 3 years old watching this in my living room on a tiny tv. Still a vivid memory and the start of me realizing just how no good the Oilers are.

Backstreet lounge in Smugglers Inn.....and hooo boy did the liquor flow thereafter.
It was like we had slayed the dragon. IMO simply the most intense era of NHL hockey ever played because of the physicalness of the time. I remember watching a draw late in the 3rd in the Flames end and screaming fir joy when the puck simply exited the zone.
Good times.

After watching the game at a friend's house we drove to the old airport (somewhere around there) to an area fenced off by the runway where the Flames landed upon returning. Thousands of people were there cheering "Smith for Mayor", waving flags, and going nuts when the Flames landed. Skipped school to line up for tickets for games 3, 4, & 6. Still have the ticket stubs and I still think my mom is the coolest for letting me do that! Memories that will last a lifetime!

Playing street hockey and watched that game at a friends house, we laughed and laughed as his Oiler loving older Sister cried and cried.

My mom and my friend's mom took us out of school to go down to Stampede Grounds for a "Thank you Flames" rally. That was pretty cool.

I was a couple of weeks away from turning 18, final year of high school and we were watching at home (lived in a tiny little hamlet NW of Lloydminster). I remember this moment vividly.

I was 10, and I saw it on TV. It was one of the greatest memories I have outside of the Gelinas playoff goals.
From that day on, yelling SHOOOOOOT every time he touched the puck behind the net was a lot of fun. It was even MORE fun yelling it as a drunken adolescent years later when Smith played for the Flames.

11years old and at home in Varsity with the whole family watching, I ran around the house like a wild child.
I hope the Hockey Gods are back on the Flames side again on April 30th and we win the Draft Lottery....
