The way Treliving was talking about Jankowski in his Fan960 interview, he makes it sound like he had a lot of developing to do before he makes it to the NHL as a regular. Maybe he was trying to temper fan reactions, but I would be surprised to see Jankowski play more than 10 games with the Flames next season and he would probably only get that many games if the Flames fall out of the playoff race.
IIRC, Treliving had similar statements about Shinkaruk after the trade.
Love that little foot shuffle Shinkaruk did for his first assist the other night. https://www.nhl.com/video/brodies-pp...876/c-43043503
Really see it at the :38 second mark. Just turns his feet making himself sideways and opening up all kinds of passing lanes, then hooks the pass. It's a smart play. Apparently does it often.
Reminded me of Drury a little when I first watched it.
He's done that foot shift twice that I saw in the two games here (could've been more), and I liked the move.
I think it's awesome that, despite having Monahan, Gaudreau and Bennett already leading the way on the big club, that we still have 4 21 year old, first round draft picks on the farm that we can debate the merits of.
I actually think Mangiapane's right in that conversation.

Surprised a little that Jankowski leads the poll. I would have thought since we have all watched more of Porier and Shinkaruk they would be the top 2 in this race. Porier's sophmore slump is hurting him here
I voted Shinkaruk, but I think Jankowski will be a solid NHLer too.

Looks like how he entered the zone when he scored this pre-season goal Canucks fans all lose their minds over:

As far as which player has the necessary tools/attributes to make it in today's NHL? Jankowski. But for all we know, Klimchuk could be the stand out in a few years time.
