I would cheer for Dallas because of the 1st round pick but also for Iggy saying no to boston and forcing his way to the pens.

I hate Patrick Roy and the Avs.
I'm going with the pick.

Pick. If Iginla was truly interested in a cup, he would've accepted less money and term to go to a legit contender.

If the pick was only going to be a couple spots better then I'd cheer for Iggy, but theres a big difference between late first and late second. Therefore, go Stars!

It's interesting to compare the attitude here compared to 5 years ago. Good GMs really do need to be detached from the players

Iginla for me.
I don't think there's much of a difference between 28th overall and a late 2nd rounder.
Look at Klimchuck and Poirier vs some 2nd round picks of the past.

This is a really pointless and futile discussion.
While some portion of the fan base might be swayed by Iggy if he had a shot at a cup, the fact of the matter is Colorado has no chance of making it by the big guns in the west.
This is really asking would you rather see the Flames get the conditional first or Iggy make it to the 2nd round.
It's a non starter.

Pick. I have no appetite at all for seeing Iginla win a championship in an Avs uniform. It was much more palatable when he was with Boston.

I want the pick.
Iggy will get his Cup next year when he comes to Calgary at the trade deadline.

Clearly want the pick, but also the Stars are likely to make mincemeat of the Avs.

I'll take the pick, there is nothing more satisfying as a Flames fan to see the Calgary Flames do well. I have watched and cheered for different teams when the Flames didn't make it and I find the experience to be like settling for less then I feel I deserve for following the Flames my whole life. Anything that benefits the Flames is all that matters to me, getting another 1st is likely the only victory we will see in the playoffs this year from a homer standpoint. I really appreciate Iginla and his tremendous career but the only winning I want him doing is either in a Team Canada jersey or the Flaming C.

HOWEVER, ideally he wins the cup Bourque style with the Flames. He'd be playing on the 3rd line with the kid we draft with Dallas' 1st round pick.
So, Dallas.

Dallas, unquestionably (and yes, I like Iginla).
Now if Dallas and Anaheim meet, I have a dilemma (Buffalo has a conditional 3rd from Anaheim that turns into a 2nd if Anaheim makes the third round). Ideally, that is the third round, and everyone is happy.

I've always liked the Avalanche and Iginla, so I went with Colorado.
I also doubt that Dallas gets to the West Finals

Gross. Colorado is our long time Northwest division rival, why would I cheer for them?

Ok Scorpion, I defended you before for silly threads but this is a completely pointless waste of a thread.
You may as well ask "If Dallas and Minnesota play, cheer for David Jones or a 1st?", or "If Colorado and Minnesota play, cheer for David Jones or Iginla?" We all know which answers would win

The earliest the Ducks and Stars could possibly meet is the third round.
