Yeah, we haven't seen evidence of their willingness to do deals like this, but two straight management teams have trumpeted their willingness to buy assets.

I guess it depends what we're willing to believe.

Yeap, I remember those reports.

Ward deal fell through for some reason, and it was reported that Ribiero used his NTC to block the deal and force his buy out....just another reason to hate that POS.

When Leafs sign these guys it can go either way. Just look at the Habs with Semin. For whatever reason the Leafs have been picking the right players for these one-year deals and they have really played well for them.

The thing I like is a lot of these players who are getting traded return to the Leafs. Like Winnik did this year for example. And PA Parenteau has said he would like to come back to Toronto next year...Maybe it's because they know they can't make any other team, but still for once as a Leafs fan things seem to be going in the right direction.
