Not just Sam at center, but I freakin love that line. Season just got mad exciting. I just wish it were Granlund on the Backs line instead of Joe "turnovers"

Maybe last year.
I'll be shocked if that line is effective tonight. Ferland and Jooris aren't doing much this season. I guess it makes sense to shelter Bennett in his first few games at center though. Hope it clicks.

I don't think they've "given up" I think they're being realistic about things. It's like saying "I've given up on dating Scarlet Johansen" because that happening and the Flames making the playoffs are close to about the same odds.
This just seems like the team is doing things now to see what they'll have in the future. Nakladal, Wootherspoon, Bennett at centre and probably Ortio getting a string of starts soon are all like another training camp to evaluate what this team has in it's young players.
