I thought for sure break, but then reading this:

Still no definitive word on Karri Ramo after 3rd period collision in SJ. He will travel with team to Phoenix and be reevaluated there.
I have a BIT of optimism. If a break, you'd have to think he'd be sent to Calgary right away. No point in keeping him on the trip unless there's some possibility he plays.
So... no clue at this point what this could be.

Well part of the reason they didn't send him home is due to the fact the Flames charter was probably the last flight out of San Jose last night. Take him to Phoenix with you, and check him in the morning before you send him home.

I hope he heals well, since Dec Ramo has been a real rockanrolla.
Poulin gets the call, surely? Ortio has not earned anything this year.

Looked to me like a groin injury. He looked exactly like I did when I did it houseboating but I also had the added perk of feeling like I was going to drown.
It literally froze me and I didn't know what to do cause every movement I attempted sent a shot of pain through my groin.
Hopefully it's just that and he will be back in a couple weeks.

If it was a suspected break or tear, surely they would leave him in San Jose and send him to Calgary first thing in the morning.
Split's optimism restored.

Unless a player gets sent to the hospital during a game, why would you leave him there? The team is travelling, so you go with the team doctors to evaluate you in the morning. Plus Phoenix has more direct flights to Calgary if you need to get him home.

Time would tell, but SFO does have a lot of flights to Calgary too. If the injury is severe enough it that it's potentially season ending, it doesn't make sense to me to fly him 1,000 miles in the opposite direction and then fly back to Calgary.
Split's optimism now hangs in the balance.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so. Ramo was given a long string of games which included bad starts while Ortio rode the bench. He has no confidence in any of the AHL call-ups.
It will be Hiller till the end unless BT can trade him.

Terrible start to the season with with 3 goalies
Ramo sent to the AHL Oct 22-28 - cleared waivers
Hiller on IR Oct 28-Nov 25 - Ramo called back up
Ortio sent to the AHL Nov 26 - cleared waivers
Ramo injured Feb 11
What a weird year.

That was a knee, no question. If you watch the replay, it is quite clear that he hyper extends the knee during the contact.
Depending on angle and severity, he could simply have a bad sprain, or it could be a PCL/MCL/ACL.

Call up Poulin and let him sit on the bench for the next few weeks. Let Ortio play a lot in Stockton to see if he deserves another contract next season.

Ramo will stay with Flames and fly home from Phx, will be evaluated by team doctors in Calgary. Will go on IR today.
Going on IR means he will miss at least a week.

Well, here's Hiller's chance at salvaging his career. Who knows, he may surprise us.
