Kudos to Daniel.

If $900 landed in your lap tomorrow would you give it away (rough equation between a $6M player and a $60k salary)? Of course it's apples to oranges, but remember they are only earning huge money for ~10 years of their lives.
Whether it's this specific $90k or not, I'm sure most of the highest earners are already fairly charitable considering their tax bracket (giving away $1 instead of pocketing 40 cents)

FWIW Friedman said on 960 that almost everyone he talked to at the ASG was planning on donating their winnings to charity.
The interview with Gaudreau he regretted doing because he said it was obvious Gaudreau hadn't given any thought about it yet. Which tracks with what was previously known about Gaudreau. He reportedly didn't know he earned an ELC bonus last year for being named to the All Star game until the media asked him about it.

Haha how could you even begin to speculate on that? How do you know anyone on CP doesn't donate thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions?
There are many, many people in our own community of Calgary that are donating millions and millions of dollars, that have earned far less than the Sedins have in their careers.
Edit I'm not saying that to take anything away from them. Classy move and they seem like great charitable guys.

The Sedins have always been excellent people. Thankfully the embarrassing "hawr hawr hawr they're sisters!!!" days are behind us.

As much flack as we have all given the Sedins over the years, they are some of the classiest players in the league. Much like a lot of Swedes like Alfredsson and Lidstrom, they are good people.

What a jerk, I mean why wouldn't he give his winnings to Scott? Doesn't he know he's a stand up guy????
I kid, I kid. I just thought that anything all star related had to be about Scott! This is a great move and really sets a great example for the younger players in the league. Sure it's their money and they can do what they will with it but at the end of the day they're getting paid a lot more than then really need and this is a good example of giving back to the people that help you and the team. The training staff seem like they're really the unsung heroes of teams and don't get nearly enough credit.

Sedin did what he had to do (take a bunch of punches and look like a sissy) to win the hockey game, and the NHL failed.
Class on the ice, class off the ice.

If the Canucks hadn't been making the NHL and referees look like fools all the way to the Finals, maybe they would have called a penalty.
But really class move by Sedin. They both have always been very charitable. Tough to hate.

I always like to seize the opportunity to tell people about the time I saw Trevor Linden park his Range Rover in the handicapped spot at a 7-11 when there was other parking available. He also kicked an old lady and spit at me*
*or not, but the parking thing is totally true.

This happened with 90 seconds left in a game the Canuck were losing 1-5 in.

I don't see how I can't still hate him on the ice. Good on him though.
