I hope it's just a bruise for obvious reasons as the team stinks without him and if Russell gets more ice time I shudder to think what that could to his trade value. That said Engelland seems to step up when he gets more ice time.

Plus one was a tweet that explicitly mentioned McGrattan (at least I think it did). The others were not directed at anyone in particular. Odd hill for Taco to take a stand on if it's not obvious trolling to stir the pot.

Treat the cause, not the symptom. The league should eliminate shooting.

Ugh, Losing Brodie when you're trying for a playoff spot is just too much. Ouch.
I have a feeling he's going to be out a minimum of 2 weeks.

And you've based this off absolutely nothing. Good for you.

I don't think he'll be out for more than two games if any.
The shot went off his pant I believe.
While that can sting, there is a level of protection there.
Previous reports also indicated that it's a bad bruise and he did play two shifts after the block before shutting it down for the night.

Not nothing. Brodie isn't practicing today so we have a small bit of info to base wild assumptions off of!

An NHL slapshot in the thigh is going to leave a deep contusion that will be sore for a long time, but that's about it. I'd be surprised if he missed a game.

It wasn't clear to me what area of the leg was hit. I'm worried it was the knee.

Actually, some hockey insiders have mused about banning shot blocking. It's not as though it's a time-honoured part of the game (it's only been widely practiced for the last 10-15 years). And is it really that hard to imagine why the league might want to cut down on something that A) decreases scoring, and B) increases injuries?

If this only a news thread why are you posting anything but just news? You being hungry isn't news. People being rude to to others here isn't news.
This is a discussion board. I just don't get why some people around here always have to put people down. Nothing about this story (or most on here) is absolute, Brodie could be injured, he could be fine. We can talk about it and say what we think but as of right now, no one is really wrong. I think that if Brodie was injured long term, this team would have a great shot at Matthews. I could be wrong about the team being really bad without him and I could be wrong about him being injured but it's what I think and if you can't just talk about what's going on without calling people names or putting people down, why are you here?
