Haley is starting Medical school this summer, so I suspect she's winding down on the hockey side of her life.

Right now there's nothing preventing a woman from being hired in the analytics department, power skating, health and conditioning, and physiotherapy. I think it will be a long time before a woman gets hired as a bench coach.

I don't know off hand, but I would suspect that there are more females playing hockey than black males, and by quite a wide margin. There have already been female hockey coaches at the college level for women's hockey, so why is it a stretch to imagine that it will happen at the NHL level before the emergence of a black male coach?

Grant Fuhr was the goalie coach for the Coyotes when Gretzky was coaching there. Brathwaite has been working with the Canadian Junior team and I wouldn't be surprised to see him move into an NHL role.


I'd bet we'll see a woman hired as an NHL GM before we see one as a head or assistant coach.
