That's pretty bush league. Who wouldn't refuse. I'm a little embarrassed for the NHL.

If I were Scott I'd announce my retirement later this afternoon.

Yeah you k ow what? It's not about that and you know it. A rigged fan troll vote made Scott the ASG a joke. Not the league. As much as it is about paying lip service to fans it more about acknowledging the games games best... Yes BEST players and giving them some positive exposure. So in that regard, the Scott this ng was an insult to players even on his own team like OEL or Domi or honoring a close to retiring legend in Doan.

I've never been concerned about the on ice play, it supposed to be a fun game of pond hockey.

Oh no. Now a fringe nhler goon isnt allowed to go. The skies falling lol. The allstar game is more for the younger fans and I'd rather they sent skill to make it more entertaining. I for one am kind of excited by the new format.

I think Scott would have been fine 3-on-3. 3-on-3 is actually slower than the 40 second shifts of 5-on-5, going all out forechecking and backchecking. And in the all-star game it will be even slower.

John Scott is an NHL player, he is talented.

That's where I'm sitting. The All-star game sucks... but I'd watch this year just for Scott. You know the crowd would have popped hard for him every time he touched the puck. C'mon the fans voted him in, he wants to go, the game itself is meaningless, he'd draw in viewers... what's the harm.

He should ask the innocent question, do I get my bonus? I was voted to this game, I spent a bunch of money so my friends and family could come and watch the high light of my career.

Clearly the fans wanted me there.

So I want the bonus,

you can make the check out to cash, that's my nick name.

Mic Drop.

Ball kick

Door smash

Leave the stage.

Apparently the Habs don't agree

Renaud Lavoie @renlavoietva
John Scott won't play in MTL at all. It's really the Coyotes who insisted to include him in a trade. They didn't want to pay him in the AHL.

The ASG is a joke. Fans voting for Scott were just bringing light to the joke that is the ASG.

I'm sure most hockey players are honoured to be selected but they don't want to play in the game. I'm sure Doan's feelings weren't hurt he wasn't selected. Dude gets a couple days off with his family.

If the NHLPA isn't spitting fire over this within the hour, then I don't see what its value is as an organization.

Bettman deliberately orchestrated a plot to screw over a player who wouldn't comply with an order he had every right to refuse. That's the kind of thing you expect to see Vince McMahon do on Monday Night Raw, but not the commissioner of a major sports league.

I don't buy the narrative that it was fans voting him in. It was trolls doing it for the lulz. He shouldn't be in the NHL let alone all star game. If fans collectively wanted to vote in a role player they could have voted for a guy like Paul Byron, who actually could be fun on 3 on 3,not a guy who's only role in the NHL has been to injure others

....hes making $575K.

Hes one of their lowest paid players and they have him under contract. They've got to pay his meager salary whether its in the NHL or the AHL.

In the scheme of NHL salaries it seems a trivial number to whine about.

I suspect Doan will get the nod.

They need to replace a forward with a forward.

Plus Doan is a 20 year NHL vet, longest serving captain in the league and having a fairly good season for his age. He just screams perfect replacement candidate for the league.
