Likely never again, but the jeans are nice and the service was great.

I started buying raw denim a few years ago. I had a pair of Naked & Famous/Momotaro, Taylor Stitch, LVC 1954 501s, and recently, the Left Field Greasers. I still have all of them. If you rotate, and cautiously wash them, you don't really wear them out.
I love the mall-brand Levis, and the price is right, but I found that the denim only lasted around 6 months of heavy wear.

The most comfortable jeans I ever had were 100% hemp. Have never found any like them again though. Maybe when all this reefer madness is finally gone we can get some decent(non-hippy) hemp clothing around again. Super durable. Fun fact, Levi's(and I think all jeans) used to be made from hemp.

I like the fits of Buffalo but sell way more Silvers out here. Probably my favourite Jean right now has to be the Fred-X fleece Jean from Buffalo. Not too skinny yet not baggy, with the added comfort of wearing sweatpants. Trust me nobody will know you're wear fleece pants.

I usually stick with the Bay. If you're 30 or over (and thus grew up in the boot cut era like me), beware of the trendier stores, as it seems like all the pairs are in the modern "straight leg" (aka tight-ass jeans) model, or even narrower. I'm skinny and I don't know how guys even do it in those styles. It's not for me, and my boot cut glory days.

The 501 cut, you fools! Go to the CrossIron Mills store, and buy the shrink-to-fit.

I've always liked diesel jeans. Staying away from there crazy washes and styles, they always have a couple more conservative washes and fits. They wear well and last forever which makes the added cost justifiable, for me.

The 501 cut was my choice, until I found the 541 cut. The most comfy jeans I've tried from Levi's, but a $90 tag price is a tad too much for me.
I might go to the Outlet store (CrossIrons?) to see if they have some.

If you're going to spend $200+ on jeans, then look into a quality Japanese raw denim.
Brands like Nudie are alright for entry into the world of raw denim, but they suffer from average quality/durability and overly fashionable cuts/designs, which makes them look dated within 1-2 years. The crotches blow out really easily and the jeans tend to fall apart before you have a chance to get really good fades. Nudies often go on sale. So if you can find a pair for $100 that's alright, but I wouldn't pay $200+ for them.
The last pair of jeans I bought were Pure Blue Japan. I also own a pair of Samurais. The next pair will be Iron Hearts. I'm willing to pay $300-400 for a pair of jeans that lasts me 3-4 years of heavy wear. I made the switch into raw denim about 10 years ago, and I won't go back.

I know this feels like repetition but this statement cannot be echoed enough. 501. Want it slightly more modern? 501ct (I've got a couple pair, just great). 501. 501. 501. It's the standard. Like a white dress shirt. Fine, get something else too, but if you don't have one pair of 501s in your closet you're off it.

Air dry is paramount. I run a wash on them as needed (noticeable dirt or smell, anywhere from once per month to once per year). Quick, cold, tiny bit of detergent if it needs it.
To the guy who mentioned entry raw: Neuw has an incredibly comfy slim fit. Like them more than Nudie/N&F. Worth checking out.

Not terribly durable though. Crotch went on mine in a few months. On the good side, they're only like $20.

Yeah I flip them inside out and wash them on cold as well (actually I wash everything on cold, unless I get a stain on something). I throw them in the dryer after though, just on medium.
I used to wash my jeans a lot more, but ever since Calvin Klein or whoever that was last year who said you should never wash your jeans, I've really slowed down with how much I wash em. It used to be every Sunday during my weekly wash sesh, but now it pretty much has to fail a smell test (or a stain) or I'll just leave em be.

I hope I'm not the only one wondering what raw denim is... aren't all jeans made of the same material?

It is denim that hasn't been washed before sale. This typically creates a uniform fade or rinse. Raw denim skips this step. Initially, raw denim is quite stiff, and depending on the fabric weight, almost feels like cardboard. However, over time, you break the jeans in yourself - your body size, sweat ,and movement - make the jeans fit you and look better than they would from a rinsed pair.

Ya, I had to look that up. It just means the jeans aren't pre-washed so they hold the original dye.
