How does an American mailman become a Calgary Flames fan?
I wasn't a mailman when I became a Flames fan.

I'm a Flames fan today because the good folks at the cable company in Kalispell, MT where I was born and spent a good chunk of my life saw fit to have the Lethrbidge affiliate of channel 7 in Calgary on basic cable. Ed Whelan, Lanny McDonald and Theo Fleury did the rest.

It always amazes me that people on both sides of the border assume we are all so far apart geographically.

Is the work as exciting as what the milkman does?

Have you been to some pretty rowdy neighborhoods and got a little worried about it. Hows it like being a mailman.
Where are there still milkmen?

Otto....yes, have worked in the 'hood quite a lot. It's sad. Lots of good people. Mostly retired folks who have watched what was once a nice neighborhood when they bought their homes in the 50's deteriorate into a drug infested wasteland. It's odd....you'll be walking through the streets past house after house with plywood for windows and piles of trash in the front yard, cars on blocks or just stripped, syringes on the ground etc and every once in a while in the midst of all of this is a really nice, beautifully landscaped home with a gorgeous yard etc.

Had a police foot chase go by within 20 feet of me this spring. A guy was running from the cops. A chopper was tracking from above. This dude runs across the street right in front of me. It was surreal. Just reminded me so much of COPS. The cop who was chasing him followed a couple of seconds later. They caught him on the next street. Now, I wasn't really scared...the cop didn't even have his gun out but it was still unnerving. Probably the most excitement I've had so far.

I believe you answered this before but... 2 part question;

When and how did you become a flames fan

When and how did you find CP....
Answered the first one above...the when is late '80's.

I found calgarypuck's creator before calgarypuck existed. Spring of '97. We used to have the conversations taking place now via email before he started Fire On Ice. That was the one with fireworks!

fact...I am the first poster in Calgarypuck history.
