He also said he was looking forward to a re-match with Canada (in other words, it sure sounded to me like this game against Russia is just a formality).

It's interesting.

This tournament is rarely dominated by draft eligible players, but Laine, Puljujarvi, Juolevi, Matthews, Tkachuk, and Alex Nylander have been among the highest scoring players all tournament.

This might end up being a pretty deep draft and I personally want to see a USA-Finland final just to get a good look at these guys going head to head.

Puljujarvi especially has put himself into very elite company as an U-18 in scoring at the WJC. http://www.eliteprospects.com/league...tion=&sort=u18

Some questionable penalties for sure, but well Sweden had their chances too. Pretty bad effort on the 3rd.

Finland played really well.

I guess we'll see Sune76 next year again.

Not even gonna blame the refs, Sweden got outplayed badly, Finland stepped up their game big time, and we didn't. Simple as that.

Sweden had a pretty good tournament. Especially when you consider the number of injuries they had to deal with.

They managed to shut down the tournament's top line, they just couldn't handle the rest of the Finns waking up and playing well.

I'd give Söderström a lot of credit for keeping the game close. He was really emotional after the game though, saying he should have done more to carry the team through the game. A winning attitude for sure.

I will say Englund looked a lot better when he was able to play with his usual partner AOM.

Russia going with Samsanov in goal.

Samsanov has only faced 18 shots in the whole tournament.

Russia making crazy goaltending moves is an International Hockey staple.

Choppy start for both the U.S and Russia. Samsanov is a big boy. I don't blame the Russians for starting Samsonov after the other goalie looked weak against Denmark of all countries.

Not going to lie, I'm pulling for the Rooskies today. And just as I type this, U.S score. Dvorak.

I really like that #26 Korshkov for Russia, draft eligible.

Oh! 5 on 3 for the Russians for 2 minutes. This could not go well for the Americans.

Not sure what Wilson was angry about there...both clear-cut penalties.

Probably for looking like an idiot

After the Canada lost to Finland, he was telling all the reporters how he warned Lowry that Canada has to play disciplined and can't take too many penalties.
