Even better for the Canucks - the guy who scored the 2nd goal for Sweden was drafted by the Canucks and then traded for Adam Clendaening.

They should send both him and McCann back. They are horribly managed so they'll both probably stay.

Yep, seemed inevitable for a handful of minutes there. Completely different dynamic now.

Are there really that many Canadians at this game? Or the Finns all cheering against Sweden?

Does anyone else see some similarities between Virtanen and Rene Bourque? Some skill and toughness but very little hockey sense.

Hope this game keeps this intensity, so much fun to watch... but they really need to stay out of the box.

Virtanen actually had a decent shift there, threw some big hits.

However looked like he injured his shoulder. My bad shoulder hurt just watching him react to that last hit.

That's what he had surgery for before the NHL draft, right?

Man, that was a smart play by Stephens. Took out 2 guys with a little pick then went straight to the net.

Its so odd to me that almost every year a Canadian team starts to struggle they wait a while to start to play physically and they instantly look better. Its such a simple recipe for these guys...finish your checks every single time, never relent and eventually the euro clubs will start to make mistakes.

That being said the youth of this team is really showing and they need the leadership to set the tone and the youngsters will follow...and it looks like it may be swinging that way a bit now.
