That's crazy close, but not definitively over the line.

It's nice to know Canada is not the only undisciplined team in the tournament lol.

I wonder if they rethink deciding on goalies the year before and disregarding play the year of. Probably shouldnt have been on the team this year.

He hasn't looked that bad. Virtanen has the hockey IQ of a block of ice though.

Flames 2nd round picks (McDonald and Smith) in 2014 are looking pretty bad right now when you see that Brayden Point and Jake Walman were both available.

Should always draft skill, doesn't matter what round and where. Skill holds the greatest value and you need to be maximizing value.

I understand the Flames were looking at a prospect pool led by Gaudreau, Baerstchi and Granlund and saw the need for size, but that Hunter Smith pick was terrible in the 2nd round considering the talent that was available.

It's much easier to trade for guys like Hunter Smith and even young goalies than it is to pick up top 6 skill forwards or top 4 defencemen.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Hunter Smith pick, but I would dispute this. How many 6'7 wingers do you know what can skate and actually have hands and a bit of touch around the net?

The MacDonald - Demko thing might haunt the Flames. I wasn't a big fan of taking a goalie there anway but passing on Demko to take MacDonald has always been a bit of a head scratcher. Having said that, I'm still not sure there is a goal that MacDonald has let in that you can actually blame him for.
