Workman of the game: Sam Bennett. He did everything but score. Probably the best game of the season.
Stud of the game: Mark Giordano. Johnny was solid tonight but Gio made the right decisions at every point tonight, and dominated whenever he was on the ice. It’s not that Gaudreau didn’t, but the Oilers did do a good job of isolating him outside of his goals.

Did you not see the oiler's 3rd goal?

That shouldn't even be a situation that runs through your head if you're trying to be a competitive team attempting to win games.
The Oil suck and they know it.

Oilers so mentally weak, Schultz front and center. Fold like a cheap table halfway through the second.
Then the giveaway to JG.
Then not bothering to pull the goalie is giving up, pure and simple.

Good thing the Flames came to their senses and didn't fire the reigning Jack Adams winner before he set a franchise home wins record.

Gio and Brodie were the best two on the ice imo, when they were on the ice was tilted big time. The simple breakout plays that Wideman and Engelland #### up everytime Gio and Brodie handle like figure skaters, especially Brodie. He pivots back and forth until he sees the open lane and transfers his momentum from skating backwards to forwards seemlessly.
Best skater I've seen in the league this season. Brodie will be the captain after Giordano, he doesn't score like Karlsson but he skates like an ice dancer weaving and spinning on his skates in a way that makes him incredibly difficult to catch. So many times tonight he's got a hard forechecker on him and chips it off the boards or skates it perfectly out of danger completely ending any offensive chances against. He'll fake one way and when his attacker bites he can pivot so smoothly there's no way to catch him because he doesn't lose speed.

Random thoughts for tonight:
The Flames really showed how much better they are in every aspect of the game tonight.
Giordano really really good tonight. Just amazing.
Same with Gaudreau, he is instant offence, its crazy how shifty he is.
Once the Oilers were down 4-3 you really saw them revert to their classic Oiler style. Zero battle, looking for the pretty play, cute passes, soft on the body, turning away from contact. Just pathetic.
Flames are on fire and look very good.
