The only thing this Flames fan is nervous about is hearing "With the first overall pick in the 2016 NHL entry draft, the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club are extremely proud to select...."

Except they're not and as much as Oiler fans like to believe it the Flames are a deeper and more talented team right now.

They have a better bottom 6, they have a far better blueline.

The goaltending gap has closed with Ramo's game improving by leaps and bounds.

The top 6 are pretty equivalent.

So no, I'm not all that worried about the Oilers.

Oilers lead the league in most last place finishes in the last decade, And I know Oiler fans are proud of the number of number 1 picks that they have, but it like that franchise is just embarrassing and a blight on modern day hockey.

Not going to happen.

Laughable that you'd say something like that until it becomes clear, that every prediction that you make about the Oilers is pretty much wrong, so its likely that this prediction is wrong as well.

If the Oilers had made the playoffs in the last decade (because that's what really counts right?) there's no doubt in anyone's mind, including intelligent Oilers fans, that we'd have narrowed that gap by however many times we played them in the playoffs.

No, the only thing better then getting the first overall pick in Oiler fan logic is, winning the cup. So just like Charlie Sheens concept of "winning", it's all a matter of perspective. Blasting 7 gram rocks and contracting the high five is "winning" to him. Collecting all the number one picks until the league was forced to change the drafting rules is "winning" to that fan base. That and re-living the 80's, not just in sport but also in fashion apparently.

It's not the fan bases fault that they have developed a new form of PTSD, born from all the losing the last ten years.
After all losing really big + time = Winning

Verve, is there anything in the world more exhausting then being an Oilers apologist?

Never change bro.

Oilers lead the flames 4-1 on series, but they wanted to keep the lead so they stopped going to the playoffs

Why do you even bother with your eternity optimistic, cocky predictions? Like, I don't even mean because we get annoyed. Completely putting the trolling aspect aside, what inspires you to keep doing it when you've been so wrong to the point where you left the site, in the past?

I guess I just can't understand the reasoning behind it. Everyone thinks you're a troll, you claim you're not, so I guess this would be as good a place as any to maybe offer some insight. What drives you to keep doing it? Are you that hopeful all the time? Are you able to wipe bad/awfully wrong past predictions from your memory and just start anew each time?

I'm just not understanding.

By writing a long post like that to him, do you really think he is a troll?

Lol.

"Oh yeah, well what about this one? ...oh, what? We're losing in that one too? Hmmm...

...

...Oh, ok, well what about THIS one then??"

You've posted several times saying you think he's trolling.

Trolling takes a minimal semblance of intelligence in that the troll needs to be somewhat nontransparent in their actions as to create the possibility that they actually might not be spouting things just to garner a reaction.

Verve has spent years here showing he (very laughably) believes the nonsense he spouts. He might try to loosely insinuate he trolls in a very transparent attempt to cover up all the embarrassingly incorrect assertions he's made here, but it couldn't be any more obvious as to who and what he is. Just another contemptuous Oiler fan who is so angry and ashamed at the last seven years of bottom feeding hockey that he's had to endure that he's absolutely starved to have one shred of something he can brag about to Flames fans. So far, he hasn't found it... and his grasping-at-straws quest to do so remains an ongoing source of entertainment.

Nah, you don't know what trolling is it seems. He's just coming here in an attempt to vent frustration and insecurity. It is far too see through to even be a failed attempt at trolling. Especially because he believes the ridiculous things he says.

Speaking of battle of Alberta. I am headed to Kelowna tomorrow for a week. Can you get Calgary/Edmonton games in Kelowna on sportsnet? Or do you only get Canucks games?

Nope. It will be blacked out. That is outside the Flames/Oilers region.

Sunday's game isn't a regional broadcast, so it should be on the full Sportsnet network.

Well there you go. Didn't know they were doing national broadcasts on those channels. Thanks for the info.
