I know this is probably hard for you to understand, but this is a Flames board, and we simply don't want or need to hear garbage about the Leafs in every thread.
You are the personification of why everyone hates Leaf fans. You truly believe that Toronto is the centre of the universe , and that we all agree and care.
Your lack of self awareness is astounding.
Either that, or you are a truly world-class troll.

I'm just confused by his previous post, it's like it was in the wrong thread. Why are you bringing up Spector here? How is it relevant to revisiting drafting Johnny Gaudreau?

Interesting to read that Feaster comment about drafting Gaudreau. I wonder if the Flames had chosen to pass on him in the 4th round if any other teams were waiting to pounce, or if nobody was willing to take a chance until a later round? Would be interesting to see where other teams had him.

There are a few D there that in the long-term might be more valuable (luckily we have one of them!), but from a forward standpoint its hard to argue against Johnny right now.
The only real downside is that Johnny got into the NHL a little later than a lot of these guys, so there's lost production there that you can't recoup (but he's working his way up the list fast anyway). That, and despite him being so shifty, you do still wonder how long of a career a guy his size will have considering how teams always go after him. Is he a guy who will have a long career, or will the constant physical pestering take its toll after a while? Betting against Gaudreau has never been smart, but I have a feeling those questions will always linger in the minds of some.

I was thinking the same thing then I looked at the draft list and yeah...

IIRC, one of the commentators at the time the Flames picked him said Gaudreau was the most skilled player in that draft.

Ray Ferraro was gushing about Johnny Gaudreau last week on TSN1040Vancouver radio. His first real look at Johnny Hockey was at the WJHC tourney and while he marveled at his skill, he thought there was no chance that he could play in the NHL due to his size (which I thought was kinda odd considering Ray was no giant at 5'10" tall).

And ironically the two were paired up on a line to showcase both of them at that development camp.
Drool.
Funny you see that sort of thing at development or rookie camp all the time, but they almost never see the light of day in the NHL

Both him and Fleury were worried about how his size could translate, and it probably was a smart analysis from them, hell they know better than anyone how hard it is for a small guy to make it. The fact his size hasn't been an issue at all is so crazy, crazy awesome for us.

My favourite are the Spector tweets where he tries to act neutral when commenting on the Flames. You can always smell either the joy when they are doing poorly or the contempt when they're doing well.

Yup. And there is usually some veiled insults in his reluctant praise of the Flames.
I have no idea why he bothers.

Johnson went undrafted in 2011 because he was about to turn 21-years-old. I suppose he was still eligible, but he had been eligible for the past three drafts already.
He was a very late bloomer, and is a pretty good player, but I'm not convinced he will ever approach numbers like he recorded last year.
...And you are correct: the Oilers do well and truly suck.

Kane did go #1 in 2007. He had already won a Stanley Cup by the time of the 2011 draft.

He praised Calgary like crazy last year, but it was like he was kissing his girlfriend's best friend because he caught her cheating

I still chuckle to this day over the fact that the Oilers beat the Flames in game 82 of the 2006-07 season (a meaningless game for Calgary as they had already clinched a playoff berth) and jumped over the Hawks in the standings and out of the draft lottery. As luck would have it, Chicago wins the lottery and they selected Kane while the Oilers picked 6th overall and selected Sam Gagner.

Winning that game allowed the Oilers to leapfrog both the Capitals and Blackhawks. If the Oilers had lost that game, they would have finished below Washington in the standings, so the Caps would have won the lottery and got Kane (or maybe not because Kane wasn't the consensus #1 pick, NHL CSS had Turris ahead of Kane).
