That's awesome.

Does a gay man who has a crush on a hockey player get to be called a puckbunny too?

Avoiding the jokes,

many people always bring up the whole thing about whether homosexuality is biologically defined from birth, or if it's something you gravitate toward and choose later in life based on experience...or a mix of the two. What is your take?
I have to say it's primarily biological just due to my experience. I mean really who would choose this way to live your life? I'm sure there are some, but at 12 I knew i really liked guys, guys turned me on and girls didn't...it never has changed. I mean that's the basic thing for me. I find guy-ness attractive. At 12 would I sit down and analyze the positives and negatives and then decide, no I took 6 years to try to understand it. If it weren't something inside of a guy. I mean i still won't rule out that it could even be a defect in my genetic code, as negative as that sounds 9i wouldn't call it a defect, maybe an enhancement!), but I know I didn't choose this, but i can choose how i behave, i mean i could say this isn't right and marry a girl out of convention and try to have kids(i soo want kids btw), but it wouldn't be fair to her or me or the family as I couldn't have that emotional bond i have with my bf. it's the same thign, jsut cause you are gay doesn't mean you have to sleep with lots of guys, you choose your behaviour, we all do.

How did your family react when you told them you were gay? How about your straight friends?

Well, i always wonder why. I mean it is a cultural experience I guess, but i mean it's too stereotypical there, all the bad ones are too prevelant for me. I personally hate the ones here in Calgary, for many reasons. Many girls want me to take them, and i've gone more with them than guys it seems. Maybe they just want to win in pool. But hey, as long as everyone is nice then who cares, right?

With the emergence of television and film programming like Will and Grace and Queer Eye, many people are suggesting this is a sign of tolerance throughout society, would you agree with that? are you seeing any more tolerance in terms of the way people treat you?

And let me throw in my kudos for honestly answering questions. It's nice to see people being open in these threads.

Can you pick out a gay guy? For example, I've dated a polish chick for awhile now, and I've got a few polish friends... Likewise, filipino. I can pick out filipino or polish from a mile away. Do you see the gay from a mile away?

If so, is my ex-boss gay? Nicest guy I've ever met. Never said a bad word about anyone, never had a bad word said about him, spoke with a lisp, used strange words like "goo", had a "girlfriend" a few years prior, got flush faced while me & other boss went on about women, swear-vocabulary consists of words like 'geez' and 'jeepers'... What's the gay-meter tellin ya?

ps, kudos to you gay guys... More women for us straight guys!

i was waiting for this one.

My folks are very conservative christian, my dad just shrugged and sat down on the couch. He still refuses to talk about it...he's very ignore it and it doesn't exist, i think cause he really wants grandchildren badly. My mom still hates the thought, but she'll talk about it. She cried for about 2 weeks and asked lots of questions. She figures I'm jsut making life hard on myself and thinks that I am missing out on great things in life. Now she's sorta being cool, I mean she picked up Out magazine for me (which i never read) where she got it i have no clue...I bet she found it on a bench somewhere. She hasn't liked any of my bfs and thinks instead of dating other student-aged guys that I should find myself a 30 y/o doctor or lawyer, who's "stable and secure". She hasn't met my current one, but talking to her she seems more positive as she has noticed a bit opf a good change in my attitude and demeanor in life. She's getting better...

My friends have been great. I did lose my best friend 3 years ago because of it. I wasn't gonna tell him since I knew him too well and I knew the reaction. he put me thru 4 months of hell and caused me to lose another friend...his fiancee, now wife who took his side after being my confidant forever...other than that, it turns out i'm the only gay guy most of them know so at times i feel like changing my name to token...but they are great people and i love them to death.

I guess. I mean society becomes more tolerant every day of things. I think people who are intolerant are going to be intolerant, and those that accept it are goign to accept it. Just with media and such those that are intolerant are keeping it to themselves for the most part...at least in public. Still I walk hand in hand with my bf in Best Buy at the zoo, or to the movies and it doesn't go over well in Calgary, so tolerance has a level. I mean we are respectful enough to avoid it when kids are around as we don't wnat to cause parents any grief at having to answer questions before they should be asked, nor are we all over each other in public, but even seeing us together in a restaurant causes some grief and snide comments. oh well.

See the gaydar post. Sometiems it's really easy, but more than anything I have to have a convo, interact a bit and then I can tell. The best is going out with my straight friends and playing "is our server gay?" at the restaurant. Sometimes I'll go over the top with that one.

I mean one of my best friends has the worst lisp, is prissy like you wouldn't believe, is a Canucks fan, worries about his clothes more than I do, gets thought of as beign gay by most ppl but is totally hetero (believe me i've tried as he's really cute and really nice).

I have a question.

What is with all of these spam "I am ___, ask me anything" topics lately? Rather annoying and childish if you ask me.
Somebody copied the genius idea from the Something Awful forums it looks like

What's your take on bi's? In denial, experimenting or an actual category?

I've often thought of changing my name on here, due to how it looks, especially in this thread lol)

What is a characteristic of straight guys that you would consider stereotypical, that you like to make fun of? eg. bad fashion sense

Does size matter?

I think there are many who are just not sure yet, I also find the most are basically straight who wouldn't pass up a nice/cute guy.
