The announcement yes, but the actual organization of the winter games are usually decided and complete early on in the previous season. That's why you always hear rumors and leaks about who's playing.

Not Jersey related, but I'm hoping either Howard or Mrazek does a tribute to their past goaltenders like Vernon, Osgood or even Hasek.

Also wish Crawford or Darling does a Murray Bannermann tribute mask for the winter classic.
