loob job: a "gonish" is something that's good... as well Antigonish is the opposite of anything good, hahaha.

I don't know, I never noticed the slang "I'm going for a drive" or "I'm getting a drive with so-in-so". I guess it derives from the fact you drive a car, to get a drive refers to someone else driving you?

I have friends and family in NB, Moncton can be a nice place to visit, love going through it on the train. You have family on the Cape (ie: Cape Breton... what part?)

Here's a question I posed earlier today in a webchat on WashingtonPost.com to the filmmaker of the PBS documentary "Gutted" for the series Wide Angle. Maybe you can add some further insight.

"Calgary, Alberta, Canada: As a resident of Western Canada who attends university in Eastern Canada for part of the year, I would like to know what choices as a consumer I can make to minimize any derogatory effect on the fishing industry and whether those choices differ depending on whether I am buying mostly Pacific or Atlantic stock."
eat Catfish.

New Brunswick... ummm sucks? Hahaha, actually it's a fine province has a few "major" cities (I say 'major' as they aren't on par with Calgary or Edmonton) with Freedytown, Moncton, and Saint John. Moncton is the economic hub of New Brunswick, and is the gateway to PEI and Nova Scotia

i would argue that Moncton is not the econimic hub of NB... Call centers does not an ecomonic hub make. Monctonians would like to think so.. There is way more money and big business in Saint John... The french influence(more flashy) in Moncton just makes it look that way.

Why did they name a beer "Moosehead?"
Oland Brewerys actually came into existance in 1877. and i believe that the change to moosehead came in the early 1900's.. as to why the name i am not really sure. I am friends with some of the oland family i will have to ask them next time i see one of them. There are alot of moose around here though...lol

How come the town of Anitgonish has THREE Tim Hortons, or at least it did when I was last there.

MolsonInBothHands: If I'm not mistaken it's a fataing Swede!

TimSJ: You would argue wrong, hahaha. Actually I was under the impression that the Moncton-Dieppe-Riverview region is now bigger than Saint John, as their economy has rebounded (kickstarted by call centres) but they have a number of companies basing thier operations out of Moncton (Altantic Blue Cross comes to mind). But I'm not up on the details of the NB Economices, so maybe saying geographic hub would be better? Kind of like Truro in Nova Scotia?

I would think Moosehead probably comes from watching the Moose in the water where all you see is their heards, or the name came to the brewers while looking at one hanging on the wall?

Dynamic: First of all... what were you doing in Antigonish long enough to count the Tim Hortons? I realize there is LITTERALLY nothing better to do, but man get the fata out!

But Antigonish having 3 Tim's isn't nearly as insane as Sydney Freakin' River having three Tim Horton's!!! Judging by Map Quest it appears all three in Sydney River are within 100 meters of each other.
