Decent again?

When was he ever decent?

I completely agree with this. Don't throw Ortio into the pressure cooker and let Ramo try to work his way out of this funk and into a better groove. Outside help via a trade is unlikely right now anyways. Run with Ramo for the most part and see what happens.

Was it Eddie Shore who tied a noose around his goalie's neck to teach him to stand up? I say give it a go. What do we stand to lose?

Did you become a Flames fan yesterday? Ramo was fine last season.

Agreed. I find it interesting that many people seem to claim that our goaltending was terrible last year. I couldn't tell you save percentages off the top of my head but I believe we were pretty middle of the pack. The Flames got outplayed lots last year and got pretty good timely goaltending from both Ramo and Hiller.

There's a reason Ramo got a contract. He wasn't terrible.

Yeah, the goalies here last year were average, which was good enough. The numbers they are putting up this year wouldn't look favorable even if they played in the 80's.

Who else are they supposed to try? Might as well roll with one and see if they can find their groove. I'd rather destroy Ramo's mentality than Ortio if this continues so I'm good with this.

Last season when he was 30th in the league for SV% and 30th in the league for GAA?

And that doesn't account for the many, many goals saved by defensemen while Ramo was sliding way out of position multiple times a game.

Blah.
So how long do we ride the crappy goalie for, he lets 6 in against Philly, 7 the next game, then does Ortio get a chance?

I don't get this " don't throw Ortio into the fire" comments? There is no point on having him on the team if you can't trust him to do better than Ramo or Hiller. Getting thrown into the fire is how some goalies make a name for themselves.

IMO it's becoming more and more evident that the reason the flames signed Ramo was not because they thought they had a trade for Hiller, it's because Hartely does not have confidence in Ortio. Not going to be shocked when Hiller comes back that Ortio will be put on waivers, clear waivers, and sent to the AHL.

We can! And we probably will!

It was always a good bet to start Kipper after he had a bad game. Maybe Ramo channel the Finnish mojo.

Any bad NHLers or former Flames, or even former Oilers on that roster looking for a goal? Ah, Sam Gagner. Hat trick for him as well.
