105 here in Hillhurst. I think it's over now. No one in the last 20 minutes or so.

32, in Castleridge.

When I was walking out with the kids, there was lots of kids out, but I think our house is on a street that doesn't get too many kids from beyond the street.

I'm pretty sure my son and I walked by your house earlier in the day, if so your set up is deadly, do you have a bunch of tombstones out front as well?

We live in a condo, so don't get kids, but we took our daughter out with her friend in Glendale/Glenwoods (I have no clue what the name of their suburb is, it's south-west of Westbrook Mall), and my husband stayed behind at our friend's house to hand out candy - he said about 20 came to the door in the 45 min- hour we were out, and then about 6 more came just before we left around 8 PM. Our friends said that their neighbourhood is pretty transitional - lots of seniors, but slowly there are young families moving in.

About 60 here in West-ish Hillhurst. That's better than I expected. Lots of Storm Troopers, Disney is going to make a killing on this movie...

Quite happy to see door to door trick or treating going on. No excuses this time with a Saturday and warm weather.

This is 2 years in a row with no trick or treaters knocking on the door. Activity all around us but nothing on our street - weird

About 40-50 out in the country. Had a fire put set up at the end of the driveway that seemed to be a hit!

I wish there was more people handing out chips when I was young. To this day I do not really hve a sweet tooth. You give me a bag of chips it is gone very quickly with a beer chaser. Any form of potatoes thin and fried stand no chance.

Probably Glenbrook; that's where I live and you've described it pretty well. I just say Signal Hill or West Hills when people ask because Glenbrook's right beside it and so small that even born and raised Calgarians seem to have never heard of it before or know where it is; probably because it's mostly a retirement community. But I have noticed lots of strollers out on weekends, your friend's correct there.

We had under 10 kids this year, but we also left for a Halloween party at 8:30.

Nada, we got skunked this year. In the past we only get 4-8 kids anyways. Three of which are from the neighbours two doors down, but they seemed to be out this year.

Didn't seem like there was a single trick-or-treater in our complex at all this year

Six kids.

Six.

I'm not even that old, but I remember Halloween/trick-or-treating being a much bigger deal back when my friends and I used to go out (15-20 years ago). The streets were littered with kids. Is it just helicopter parents ruining all the fun? I don't understand why it died off like it has.

25 total in Lakeview. Lived for 20 years in North Glenmore Park, used to get about half that.

Hasn't died at all. Neighbourhoods age. A neighbourhood probably gets 10 peak years. Bridlewood was packed between 6:30 - 7:30 you had line ups at house as it backed up. The rest of the night was pretty busy too with people starting at about 5:30.

The only thing I'd say has changed is that it ends at 8. Though I noticed that as a difference between Saskatoon and Calgary when I moved here. So calgary might have always ended earlier.

We had 50-60 kids, almost ran out of candy so I'd say we hit the perfect amount, good to know for next year. Shut it down at about 9 because my 1 year old was sleeping. About 20 minutes later some kids knocked on the door and rang the doorbell like a bunch of maniacs! I webt downstairs, opened the door and heard them laughing their asses off as they ran down the street. Guess shutting it down at 9 is too early!

Down here in Lethbridge we had to shut off the lights early, 175 kids by 7:45 in Riverstone, Brother had over 300 in the Uplands and cousin who is also in the Uplands ran out of candy at 250, he also gave away 90- 100 cups of hot chocolate and 30 cans of beer for the adults. These numbers are about the same as last year.

Not sure how many we had in Bonavista...40? But we had a herd of 80-100 teenagers roaming the neighbourhood after a house party 10 houses down got broken up by 6 cop cars. Ahhh.... to be young again...
And the kidlet got a full sized Snickers bar!!! That was the best part of the night!

We had 1 group with 2 people in it in Scenic Acres, but I guess we're in a cul de sac and people are lazy? I bought a box of 90 candy bars, I should have given those kids 45 each!
