I will find some solace in Hiller being injured if they don't call Ramo up.
He hasn't been playing great, but I really don't want to reset this goalie circus all over again.

Is there any official news as to who is being called up? I"d be surprised if it's not Ramo.

Not that I've seen yet, and I'd be just as surprised as you.
So while everyone can celebrate Hiller being out of the net... we're likely seeing Ramo return.

While true, Ortio likely gets the start next game.
And if my intuition is correct, which it it always is, the Flames are about to start the turnaround. So Ortio is going to run with it.
Besides, wasn't having 2 Finnish goalies the dream anyway? (With all due respect to Evander Kane)

If they call up Ramo and play him ahead of Ortio, we might as well just kiss Ortio goodbye. Why would he want to continue to stay here if they're just going to play call-ups ahead of him after only a game and a half of real action?
I wouldn't blame him for being livid about something like that.
I have a lot more faith in the Flames management/coaches than that. It would be ridiculous.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Before we all get ahead of ourselves here just remember that the next 2 games are back to back so yes its entirely likely they call up Ramo and play him immediately.

Here you go Hartley, here's your rallying point for the season to get all your players to buy into what your preaching. I bet the flames go on a good run now and string some wins together. This is a team that shows what it's really made of when the chips are down I believe. The old wounded tiger approach.

Exactly. I'd expect Ortio tomorrow, Ramo on Saturday. Then things can be re-assessed.

Cue the Dubnyk-esque run by Ortio, vaulting us back into playoff contention.

Also worth noting: Dubnyk wasn't acquired by the Wild until mid-January last season.

This start reminds me of two years ago when Ramo and Berra were the worst tandem in the league (with help from Joey Mac). Hope Ortio can become the #1 guy this team sorely needs.

Because he knows Hiller and Ramo are gone next season?

Sorry but I agree with Galley on this one. Luckily for the Flames, they finally got a PP goal.

Disagree. If that's a Flames player I'm wondering why he didn't try harder not to go shoulder first into the goaltender's head. Officials are going to call that every time. Whether he was pushed matters not as the officials are trained to make a call based on the player's efforts to avoid hitting the goaltender. You said yourself you don't think Ryan made 100% full effort to avoid Hiller which pretty well means based on what you saw the officials made the right call. Flames fans aren't overly outraged because Hiller was struggling but if that was Kipper taking that hit having to leave the game with his status uncertain Flames fans would surely be livid with Ryan for taking out our goaltender.

He could be too.
Point being, if they were going to play Ramo ahead of him anyways, they should have just waived him. If they didn't want him taking time away from Gillies, then trade him. That would be my thought process if I was him.

The officials made the right call calling a penalty. Ryan sounded like a little punk in his comments after. The guy should have been hammered with a huge hit.

I'm not to sure why everyone is getting worked up about Ramo potentially playing a game. Ortio will get the start on Friday and probably Saturday as well.

Hopefully Flames management has had more communication with Joni Ortio, upcoming goaltender prospect, about their plans and expectations for him this season then they have had with MattyC, Calgarypuck Franchise Player, so that his thought process isn't based on filling in the gaps.

Kent Simpson was recalled from Adirondack to Stockton.
Ramo recall should be announced soon.

What I hope to see:
Flames have called up J.Gilles to replace the injured Hiller.
Ramo to start for Stockton.

I wonder if Ramo or Ortio starts tomorrow night.
