There's a lot of pieces missing in this line-up. That shouldn't be an excuse, except that those are all pieces that know our system and our culture. I'm concerned about the chemistry and compete level. I'd be even more concerned if all of our wounded were also caught up in this mess.
Went to the game tonight and once again I don't have a lot of positives to say. I do have one good thing to say however. I met ken king tonight who was sitting right behind me. He told me to "take care" of the oiler fans sitting beside me. I said "don't worry, they already have enough jerseys on the ice. He laughed and so did the oiler fans.

Last year the Flames were a fun team to watch whether they were winning or losing. This game was not fun to watch. I suspect this board will not be fun to read for a few days either.
Where's the teamwork?
Think I'll check out and just pay attention to the election until next game.

Last year we lost to both Toronto and Buffalo. I think that was on the same road trip too. I think this loss will shake them up and wake them up. I'm not too concerned yet.
1. Gio ain't right.
2. Hamilton will take time. Patience.
3. Team misses Brodie immensely.
4. Injuries are a part of the game, but this team is hurting right now. Bennett, Colborne and Bouma are missed.
5. Ortio needs to f'ing start a game, if for no other reason than to energize the lineup.
Edmonton played well, they won the majority of battles along the boards and made good plays in the offensive zone. Calgary didn't help matters by playing like a tired and listless group.
Calgary has still yet to put in a solid 60-minute effort. Until they do, this will continue to be the result.
Don't know what to say? That was just horrible. Ortio might get next start, but this team has so many things wrong with it right now, i doubt goaltending is going to make that much of a difference.
On a positive note, we must be close to being first on the waiver wire claim.LOL
That was one of the sloppiest games I can remember watching. The flames need to break out a few cartons of eggs and work on completing a pass.
The ice looked terrible, but that's not even an excuse, because it clearly didn't affect Edmonton.
Out of the 24(that sounds high) shots we had tonight, how many could be considered scoring chances? 4? 5?
We're in some serious trouble if that's the best effort we can summon.
