Bennett on the wing is perfectly fine for this season. He is still undersized and could use another 10 pounds. He isn't very good in the faceoff dot and is not yet good defensively. Let him adapt to playing in the NHL first and he can transition next year.

I don't agree with that at all. Of all the prospects in our system, Granlund is the most proven at the NHL level as a scorer. He played really well and put up points last year between Hudler and Gaudreau while lots of other guys were injured. Our other prospects with top 6 upside such as Poirier haven't shown any scoring touch at the NHL level yet so I don't think anyone has passed Granlund just yet. Like you, I hope he has a good showing and proves he belongs on this team, but I'm not ready to write him off if that doesn't happen. Until another prospect proves they can do more than him in the NHL then this spot is his.

An who would you say are the better options on the farm? Poirier? Like I mentioned in my other post, he hasn't shown he belongs in the NHL yet. Arnold? 1 meaningless NHL game at the end of the season before last. Klimchuk who just graduated from junior? After that you start getting into guys with third line upside at best. Don't get me wrong, I hope these guys all make it at some point and prove they're good enough to be flames for years to come, but I don't see how this could possibly be Granlund's last chance with the big club.

He's the first call up for a reason and that's because the organization views him as the best player not on the roster. He's 22 years old and the best player on their AHL roster and you already think it's time to move on from him? Weird.

Like I said before... I hope I'm wrong about Granlund because I used to be a big fan... The fact that he is the first callup is a big meh to me... The other guys are coming but aren't close to being ready... If he is the best we have available on the farm that's a worry but they are all young and I'm old and impatient It would be nice to see a couple of other guys on the farm take a step this year and push Granny aside not to mention a couple of other current roster flames...

Not that he's not the best player in Stockton and therefore deserves the call-up on merit alone, but another potential reason he's the first call up is that he can move up and down freely, unlike Shore and Grant. In fact, for that reason, you might see Arnold or Hathaway before Shore or Grant.

Colborne back, hopefully this means Smid and/or Brodie are also close. All hands on deck.

Yeah he didn't get much of a chance in that game, what 7 minutes of ice time with Bollig or something?

Why would this have any correlation whatsoever

He looked really bad on one goal - I forget which - the 3rd or 4th. But he had one of the best preseasons of the Flames IMO.
The trouble is he's not dangerous enough to be a big offensive threat, and while his position is sound enough defensively, he's too light and not good enough in the dot to be a really good defender.

Because adding Colborne to the roster and subtracting Granlund still leaves us at 22 players. Room for one more. Like I said, hopefully it means someone else is healthy enough to play soon. It may not mean anything, of course.
