It rained here last night and it's supposed to rain for the next few days, so that should clear up the skies and help the forest fire situation. As BC-Chris says about Kelowna weather predicting what Calgary weather is coming, my weather often precedes what Calgary gets.

I just hope all the smoke is gone when I get to Penticton.

From my office, you can't really see anything outside of downtown Calgary. Anything beyond 2 Km away is just a white wall of smoke.

There is no Bridgeland. There is no Sunnyside. Downtown is all there is. Kensington was only ever an imaginary place; we made up the Latte-Sippers that live there to entertain ourselves.

Bah. Looking forward to a crisp breeze or some rain soon.

It's cleared up now, but it's all you can smell

I don't mind the smoke. Probably because I hate normal.

I am in Vernon right now on shore of Lake Okanagan. No Blue Sky here. Was yesterday from 4 till Sunset when smoke cleared. Today is fully overcast with smoke and clouds. Rain on its way.

Did some yard work for a couple hours today. Now I smell like I've been sitting at a campfire.
Today the smell and haze is at its worst I'd say.

Ah, that's why then. My mom is someone some people may describe as "annoyingly positive". That would so be her to sell a temporary clear evening as "The smoke's finally gone, it's beautiful out!! Here's all of us on a boat!!"

Too bad, I took it as it was finally fully clear from that area, meaning we were in the home stretch. Have outdoor plans tomorrow, that should be interesting..

A quick webcam search will show you it is not OK in Kelowna. Maybe a bit better than here...
Spoiler!

Here's the readings for BC. Castlegar looks to be the worst, probably too close to Trail.

Well, it's great outside now... Unfortunately Strategic Properties sucks balls though. It's usually mid Monday by the time they turn the air circulation on, so my office currently is stuffy and smells like smoke, because I don't think they have any filters so it just concentrated in here last week..
