LOL at everyone who thinks Liberian Flames fan is photoshopped. That photo has been around for so long. I doubt someone in 2001 was like "hey I'm going to photoshop a Flames jersey onto an unrestful youngster in Liberia, hopefully I can find one with a guy's hand in the way to make it more challenging".
Yeah, as far I recall the Flames Liberian is legit.
Dont companies donate old sportswear to Africa fairly regularly?
As well as 'Championship Clothes' for the defeated team, those usually get shipped off as far away as possible...

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

I thought that championship clothes thing was a myth.
Edit: Nope. You'd think with the global economy that stuff would end up on ebay.
As for overseas, I recall an article that stated that hockey jerseys are a hot commodity in africa because they are rugged and will last a long time (they can be worn and washed every day and they don't fall apart).

I watched the movie Nightbreed about a week ago on Netflix
It shows a skyline shot of Calgary and showed a scene in which the flames were playing on the TV and old Ed Whalen was announcing.
Spotted this tonight: Iggy Pop on the Arsenio Hall Show circa 1990. Guitarist (famed session man Waddy Wachtel, born in Queens NY) was wearing a Flames jersey.
It's actually a pretty rockin' tune. Perhaps "Home Boy" should be played when Joe Colborne scores.
Pretty sure that guitarist is Whitehorn Kirst, who is from and lives in Calgary.
On the Vince Vaughn note, here's him with Yelle at a Hawks/Avs game
Excellent suites, Colorado.
"Hi there Mr. Celebrity, I think you'll find our luxury suites every bit as classy and comfortable as LA or New York. Now how tall are you? If you're over 6 feet we recommend you keep your head in a permanent ducked position to avoid nasty head/roof collisions".

Well Vaughn is like 6'5 and he seems to be standing up pretty straight.

Not a myth. I saw a documentary about it after the Patriots near-perfect season. It showed a bunch of people in, I think, Haiti rocking Patriots 19-0 t-shirts and hats.
