You know it's a team game, right? It's not Matt Stajan's fault that they missed the playoffs so many times. If you replaced Stajan with Stoll in all of those years the team still sucks.

But all all that leadership that Stajan is providing just sort of happened as Gaudreau/Monahan came on the scene and Hudler/Gio/Russell/Wideman elevated their game

Also if you replace Stoll with Stajan do the Kings win 2 SCs?

I'm sure more than a couple of teams would take Stajan over Stoll but that's just my opinion. You asking if the kings would have won with Stajan instead of Stoll is no different than me saying "do you think the Kings miss the playoffs last year if you replace Stoll with Stajan?" Stajan provides more than just faceoff wins, .4 ppg is good and his two way game is good and he's inspiring and a leader. His attitude both on and off the ice make him worth having around. If Stoll didn't have the character issues he has, he might be worth more but he does have issues which is probably one of the reasons 29 teams passed on him and he signed for less than a million per year.

Stajan was a leader before then and you know it.

I think the Stoll signing is excellent for the Rangers. But he's not quite the player Stajan is IMO. Stajan has a bit more offence and a lot more leadership. Look at Stajan's PO performance this year. He was IMO one of the best players on the team on a consistent basis.

LOL - the those "worst teams" were also coached by Hartley, so I guess he's crap as well. Or you could say the Flames weren't good until Mike Cammalleri left.
