Both disappear in the playoffs IMO
Oshie:
Regular Season : 0.70 PPG Playoffs: 0.3 PPG
Brouwer:
Regular Season: 0.48 PPG Playoffs: 0.24 PPG
IMO it feels like a trade where the Blues were looking for a couple of specific things instead of getting the best overall value in return.

What? How can it not be a thing?
Sometime teams look great on paper but they just don't click.

As for injuries, he has had 2 concussions in the last year, and I also believe ankle and shoulder injuries in the same time span.

Actually flames do have someone similar to Brouwer in Bouma. Makes you wonder if that chatter about Bouma on the move was related to a possible Oshie acquisition and if landing Frolik killed that deal.

Bouma is way better then Brouwer, he's been awful for the Caps.

could be that St Louis wanted to trade him out of the conference. So we may not have had a chance.
Next up - Patrik Berglund. Start the bidding at Mason Raymond.

TJ Oshie is overrated and a phantom in the playoffs, I wouldn't want him on the Flames. The Blues are smart to get rid of him. Backes should be next.

Finally people agree that TJ is overrated. He's scored 20 goals only once in his career (correct me if I'm wrong) and also only 60 points once or twice? He isn't gritty either. Oshie is a better scorer than Brouwer and younger but otherwise Brouwer brings more to the table. I can see the move good on both sides.

They may have been smart to get rid of him, but they sold low.

I don't think this deal is going to do much for either team tbh if anything I think Caps could come out on top.
I find Oshie to be one of the most overrated guys in the league, that and he is injury prone as another poster mentioned - would always be worried about him getting another concussion and don't think the Blues don't know that.

Not as bad a deal for St. Louis as some think IMO. They needed to shake things up and Brouwer is a big RW. Could work out well for both teams. Blues need to tinker with that line up anyways. Looks good on paper but always disappoints in the playoffs.

I think the trade only makes sense through the lens of "trying to change the mix" in the dressing room.
I'm not convinced that "the right mix" is a real thing, so I'd have kept the better player if I were St.Louis.
Yeah, cause if there's one thing you hear all the time in the NHL it's that team chemistry and the right fit for players isn't really a thing.
Good lord, Oil Stain, you scare me sometimes, haha.

I think it is a great year for the Caps and the Blues did Ok as well. A little shake up of both rosters but Oshie on the Caps looks very good to me.
Like their of season so far.

I think he's overrated by fans. I think GM's know exactly what he is.

Oh for sure there are GMs that still believe in it which leads to idiotic stuff like putting Kunitz on team Canada due to chemistry with Crosby.
