What? Fallout is definitely not Xbox exclusive.

Backwards compatibility is a huge deal from a sales perspective.
One of those features that doesn't get used a ton IMO but "Can they play their old games on this?" is a question that always gets asked when purchasing a system, especially by parents.
That Recore exclusive game looks pretty cool though, neat idea.

Yeah if Bethesda ever did that, they would alienate a fanbase and probably cause an end to the franchise.

I bet it's not XB1 exclusive.

I'm a little torn, but I think the numbers actually show that very few people end up using BC into the new generation cycle. I'm a little surprised they put it in to be honest, it probably only slows the uptake on new generation games on that platform. <insert something, something joke about people not being able to tell the difference between the Xbone and 360 graphics>
Hope we don't get that "it's a timed exclusive" song and dance BS again.

I wonder how that will work. I can't imagine something like high resolution texture mods flying on the Xbone; maybe at a literal 2 or 3 frames per second. Or is this something like what Steam tried with paid mods?

It'll probably only be certain pre-approved mods, not just download whatever you want. And they're confirmed to be free.

Tomb Raider release date is the same as Fallout 4. RIP Tomb Raider.

Yeah, not much to it I don't think. Big thing out of this was BC. Not sure I'll use it that much but good for consumers that want it.
Microsoft maybe hopes to wipe out the 360 faster and get a bit of a needed bump in Xbone sales.
Also surprised they announced Dark Souls here. Considering how little it sold on the 360 (something like 1:4 ratio?) - but I guess they're hoping to get their share of the Souls/Bloodborne style games going forward. Gotta try to stop it from being so linked to the Sony platform.
But such weak golf applause!

for me you can't really say backwards compatibility until most of the games are working. Interesting to see how it turns out though

Wait, this isn't BC across the board? It's just a selection?
EDIT: Ahh looks like they're going to have to get permission from publishers and studios to bring them in with updates over time? Kinda like the original Xbox games on the 360?

Backwards compatibility would be great if the games were scaled/had AF/AA added.
Most of the time however, it's just a cheap emulated system with no scaling/AA.

I believe they said it is available on all games. Just put the disk in and it will download the game. The performance is enhanced on xbox one.

Sounds like it's a selection of games, with a slow roll-out.
I would have preferred it to be where you insert the xbox 360 disk and just start playing, but it's just downloading digital versions of the games.

I wonder if they'll pull that trigger. I could easily see a minor dip but would kinda be surprised if it's material.
Sony is pounding Microsoft in sales even with the latter cutting the price by 30+ percent so quickly. They could easily hold the course and still steamroll them for a long time in numbers.
