I'm downtown, and I might check out training camp.
Haven't been into the CFL really since Buono left but it would be cool to see.

You can get to McMahon via the CTrain (about a five minute walk from the Banff Trail station; take the Tuscany train); a door will be open for people to walk in (between the clubhouse on the south side and the SE entrance, just go down the hill/stairs). Team store will also be open. Schedule can be found here: http://www.stampeders.com/training_camp

Prairie Mountain/Elbow Falls. 2-4 hour hike depending on fitness, then check out the falls across the road and maybe jump in. 45 min drive from the city limits. Can check out Bragg Creek too.

A couple of tips for getting around:
- Buy a book of bus/train tickets. You can get them at convenience stores, Co-op stores, or even the Calgary Transit office downtown on 7th. This will save you worry about having change with you. You can pay for the train with a credit/debit card now, but I still find it easier to have a ticket and just shove it in the validator thing that is attached to the main ticket machine. Quick and easy.
- This may be too late for this trip (but might be worth a try if you're here for a while), but Car2Go would be pretty handy for zipping around, especially if you're going to be centrally located. Basically a cheaper, more flexible rental car. These things are everywhere.
- Taxis generally suck in the city as there just aren't enough of them. If you can get one promptly, great, but don't bet your house on it showing up on time or at all, particularly at busy times.

Now don't you city folk come down here and clog up our little Waterton. You stay in Banff and leave Waterton to us simple folk. Especially the not as windy Cameron Lake

A touristy Calgary thing to do is to drive to Vancouver.

Just got settled at my brother's apartment.
Sooooo tired.
Rouge flight was good this time. Enjoyed the 767 from YYZ. Bus and C-train combo downtown. Walked to my brother's work, which is next to the Peace Bridge (so check that off the list) and then strolled to his apartment.
Up at 3:00am ADT Which I believe is midnight here so 15 hours travelling.
Nap time. Then maybe Flames Central as well, why not?

I'm up and moving after a glorious nap. My brother works until 9:30 so I've pulled up a barstool at The National on 10th.
If you want an awkward "Hi I'm from the internets" conversation with a half asleep, soon to be half drunk guy feel free to say hi.

Lol... Welcome to town. Make sure you wear full cowboy attire, including jeans tucked inside your boots. You'll fit right in
PS if you're going to subject yourself to Chicken on the Way, consider grabbing a burger and milkshake at Peters.

I don't think he is that interested in the food from Chicken on the Way, he just wants to visit the basement

I always think strolling around some of the ever-changing and vibrant districts like 17th Avenue, Mission, Kensington, Inglewood, Stephen Avenue is worthwhile for tourists.
I also think our downtown riverfront including Riverwalk, Prince's Island, Peace Bridge and over into Kensington is a very enjoyable time. So much has changed along here, and it's really beautiful.

Just fyi, that's on Stephen Ave too. Cool spot to watch a game.
When I was a teen, it was a nightclub called The Palace. Was the bar of choice if you wanted the constant feeling that you may get shanked

I agree with Bunk. A lunch time stroll down Stephen and the River Front Walk is a must. If you are starting near your brother's work by the Peace Bridge, I'd suggest you walk east along the River Front Walk and then south on Centre Street through Chinatown until you hit Stephen Avenue.

IMHO GTFO out of the concrete and see the unbelievable scenery around Cowtown.
A bit off the beaten path...but the Leighton Art Centre is a serene and amazing place.
A STUNNING view
