I think it's Americans pretending to be eurotrash guys (i.e. probably soccer players).

carrying 3 goal tenders doesn't make sense - on if he would be happy if he had Ramo, Hiller and Ortio next year

Sounds like he fully intends for Ortio to be in the NHL next year.

Lots of guys bumped this time of year.

Jiri was banged up during the playoffs - dealing with neck and back issues

Off course carrying 3 goalies don't make sense. Signing Hiller last year was a head scratcher, IMO.

No it wasn't. Ramo only had one year left on his contract, and they had no other good options.

Gosh people have a short memory.

You know how the goaltending battle played out on CP this year? Prior to the trade deadline it was a whole lot of this:

1 good game from Hiller = Hiller is the man, Ramo has played his last game for the Flames. Trade him at the deadline.

1 good game from Ramo = Hiller signing was a mistake, trade him at the deadline or in the off-season.

Fact is our goaltending tandem helped get us into the playoffs. It wasn't a particularly great tandem, and neither goalie ever really stepped up and took over the role as #1, but as a tandem they helped us get to where we were.

Ortio will be in the NHL next season and may take over the #1 spot. Gilles will start in Stockton and may be the NHL backup by the trade deadline.

Treliving thinks they are well positioned in the draft.

The extra picks are capital at the draft - trading picks for established players.

Ecstatic to have extra picks in a deep draft - can't pick only 5 players ever year, need extra swings

I wonder if Hartley is going to say anything else? It's been the Treliving show so far.

Thought when Bouma and Ferly came back they played bigger.

Yes would like to add size. Can't have size for the sake of size - need to be good players.

Need to have footspeed.

Would like to combine footspeed and size. Kings and Jets are big teams that can skate.

You have to get bigger and better

Treliving on size:

"You can't get lost on size for the sake of size"

Love it.

Did anyone else think it sounded like he doesn't want to sign Ramo?

Sure, if you didn't want the team to compete for a playoff spot.

Both Ramo and Hiller were key pieces in delivering us playoff hockey.

Based on what Ramo said in his interview and what Treliving has said in this interview, it doesn't seem like too much of a leap to think Hiller + Ortio is the plan for next year.

Not me. He's not providing answers because Ramo's situation is uncertain.
