I feel good about this game. Bouma will make a surprise return tonight, as will Gio. They'll each get 5 goals as they are fresh. This will spark the rest of the Flames. Monahan, Gaudreau and Hudler will each have 3 goals and 6 assists. This will cause the NHL to make an unprecedented decision and reverse the scores of the previous two games, giving the Flames a 3-0 series lead. Flames will then intentionally lose on Friday so they can go back to Anaheim and officially break the curse in epic fashion.
Oh, sorry, did I type out my beer induced dream from the other night? I do think the Flames will win tonight. I can feel it. I still think the Flames will have another crack to beat the curse this series, and will do so, whether or not they win the series.
No reason the boys can't win this one tonight. At home in a loud barn and the first home game of the 2nd round. I think the Flames get back into the series with a good win.
Even Diaz back in is huge. If Gio or Ferland suit up we have a good shot at winning. The Flames are from out of this if the dmen can get any backup whatsoever

#Ducks Captain Ryan Getzlaf is not on the ice for morning skate. Patrick Maroon and Corey Perry skating with Tomas Fleischmann. #ANAvsCGY
most likely maintenance for Getzlaf

Perhaps hes been abducted. They should send out Corey Perry to go find him.

It would be HUGE if Getzlaf didn't pay tonight but was there a point where Getzlaf looked injured last game? Probably gave him the option of skating or not this morning.
Not like the Flames haven't done this for their players.
Hoping the C of Red can spark this team. Really need a big statement game from the team tonight.
I mean no disrespect to anyone saying they're being realistic when assessing the Flames chances for the rest of the series, but this is a team that has defied all realistic expectations for the past 7 months. You should know better than to count them out until its all said and done.

As many have posted in the ticket thread, there is still tons of tickets available on TicketMaster and nobody is getting hits on CP's resale forum or other ticket resale sites. Come on, Calgary! I can't believe so many people outside CP have given up already. Sad.
maybe if the ticket prices weren't insane

The scenario I can see for this series in my head is that the Flames win games 3 and 4, then go to Anaheim with momentum and win a close one in game 5, then come home and close it out in game 6.
I know it's a long shot but that is how I could see Calgary winning this series.
I was thinking about this exact scenario because in Anaheim Bob was working really hard to get favourable matchups but its really hard with the depth of the Ducks and them having last change.
Lets see what happens here at home.
You're never in trouble until you lose on home ice. Lets do this.

For the flames to have any chance they need to play about 5 times better than they did in game 2. I think the Ducks will be flying and will be looking to score early and often.
Everyone keeps saying the Flames will be flying due to the home game, which is likely true, but I would not underestimate how prepared the Ducks will be for this and will be flying too.
You're not gonna win a playoff series by scoring only 1 goal in 2 games. Bottom line is the offence needs to start producing, or this series will be over quick. Hopefully the hometown crowd will get the boys fired up tonight. Just need to get 1 win to build some confidence. They've exceeded expectations all year, and I think they can do it again.
