The solid D of the Ducks has neutralized our best players, as well as our chances. The shooting lanes are always blocked, and there are no one trying to carry the puck crashing the net. If this continues our chances even in home ice will not be good, except when the Sea of Red cheering our team on.
I still hope the team can win at least one game to build its confidence against the ducks

As in the Canucks series, I'm very confident that we're gonna see a much better offensive push from the top line with more favourable line matchups

I gotta say I was entertained by the last two period of the game. I thought Calgary basically played the Ducks straight up.
I wouldn't count out the Flames just yet.

Honestly, the Flames biggest issue right now is that the 1st line can't generate anything. Probably injuries playing a part, but those guys are relied on to not only score, but generate momentum. Right now it's not happening.

Yeah he was clutch in the 3rd period with that terrible offside pass on one of the Flames few odd man rushes and handed Getzlaf the puck for a breakaway when it was still only 1-0. I realize that some of you are attached the guy but he's been terrible all playoffs. It's not like I have a history of bashing the guy as I'm only calling him out because he's been pretty bad for over a month now.

Good to see a strong showing-esp 2nd & 3rd periods. Win or lose, this team is growing and learning what's required to be elite. This is the kind of losing that ACTUALLY leads to success (MacT)!

well the ducks held serve in their barn. If we want to make a series of it, then we have to do the same in ours. Back to the drawing board and hopefully the C of Red can give them a shot of adrenaline.
While there was more balance in this one, it's worrying that scoring chances just aren't there. Oh and Ramo was everything he needed to be tonight!

I think the Flames need some leadership at the moment.
After a year of guys all playing their hearts out and chipping in from everywhere, I get the sense there's a bit of looking-to-the-top-line going on.
I'd like to see someone pick the team on their back for a few shifts next game and inspire a bit more push and a bit more fight.

The Ducks are very, very good. Flames can thank their lucky stars Ramo was on point in that first or it would have been over. Gave them a shot to get in it. Showed some progress tonight, but we're in deep, no doubt about it. Hopefully with last change Hartley can get his matchups and the boys come to play.
Kings did it down 0-3. Of all the Flames teams, this seems like the one that has it in them to pull off a 0-2 deficit against arguably the cup favourite.

I think there's a better chance of the Flames winning a game in the Honda Center than them going bankrupt. Civics and Accords are licenses to print money. Honda doesn't even have to make them good anymore they just need to put the nameplate on the car and they will be sold.

Why?
They could rename it "Ducks lose to Flames arena" and the Flames still couldn't buy a win there.

terrible start, 2nd and 3rd were alright but the Flames will need to be much better if they want to win a game let alone the series

Also--I don't get the singling-out of players at this point. This is pretty much the exact roster we had to start the year and the only truly significant in-season additions (outside of Schlemko) were call-ups from within our own system. Nobody expected playoffs let alone 2nd round. And even though they may lack in certain facets (especially compared to a deep Ducks roster), the effort is always-ALWAYS-there.
It's frustrating to see them lose, of course, but the greater progression of the team is more important right now. For example, the kids are learning what playoff hockey means. This is HUGE for their development.
There are certainly holes to fill and it's likely that this roster won't stay intact as it is, so why not enjoy watching them play a few extra games in what has been a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining season?
GFG!

Terrible 1st period, but Ramo did a great job to keep them in it. Much better second and third but too many missed opportunities. Rebounds that no one could get to and unable to get pucks through the Ducks' defense. Impressed by the difference from game 1 and that should give the young Flames confidence in being able to compete against the Ducks.
So happy we don't have to wait 2 days before the next one. Hoping the C of Red can lift this team to hold both games at home!!!!
Go Flames Go!
