Both Ferland & Hudler!!! besides the result tonight, that's my biggest concern, and I hope the players get over the mental injury that type of score can do. Yes the Ducks are a great team but anything can happen in sports and this team has been able to rally all season long!

2 day's rest before the next one. It's only 1 game down!

Flames were no good tonight. That is all. Learn from it, like your wounds, and come out hard in game 2. Hopefully the extra two days off will help heal some of the bumps and bruises. Really hope Ferland and Hudler are back for next game. This will be a short series without those two in the lineup.

Well, we broke the goose egg and it's done by our brightest rookie...there, it's the positive to take to game 2.

Hope Huds and Ferdaddy are okay... big losses if they're out.

I could be totally out to lunch, but for the first two games against the Canucks, I really felt like the Canucks were taking advantage of the reffing. It seemed to me like the refs weren't calling any interference or screens the Canucks were running and I was frustrated that the Flames weren't finding a way to take advantage of the reffing to even things out. After game two they learned how to be aggressive and take some decent runs on the forecheck knowing the refs weren't going to call it and I feel that evened things up.

Seems like it needs to happen in this series as well. Players like Kesler are hacking and crosschecking pretty hard but just not quite hard enough to get calls. I feel like Monahan et al need to get on board with this and do it as well to take the Ducks players off their game.

I think one of the advantages veteran playoff teams have is knowing how to take advantage of the reffing and I hope the Flames can learn and make an adjustment in this series as well.

The D partner and forwards HAVE to do a better job of supporting by giving quick outlets

Lick your wounds, cause I'm sure they won't like them....sorry to be a grammar nazi!

It happened, wether they beat us 6-1 or 1-0 nothing changes game 2 and I believe we are strong enough not to look back on a heavy defeat

They played bad and lost. I'd be more worried if they played great and lost 6-1.

It's one game. The series isn't quite over yet.

Our only real hope is to score off the rush when we get the chance to counterattack. Getting cute and alternating possession time in one another's zones is not going to work.

Meh. Hudler injury most concerning. Flames made two or three breakdowns they don't have and won't have next game, Hiller with a bad one, and several missed good Flames chances in the first 6 mins. Ducks get little bounces on 5th and 6th too.

Flames did need to get more on Anderson as he didn't look great. Flames passed up multiple shots too for an extra pass.

Can't get much worse than the bounces and bad early play, so just hope Hudler is good and take advantage of the chances the Flames get, and a good chance to be right on game 2.

Stand their forwards up at the blueline.

Ick. Not much to take from that one except experience...ugly, ugly, ugly.

Let it go, forget it and move forward. Still can get a split with a win on Sunday. That's all that really matters at this point.

Yeah of course! I just think we need someone who can do to the Ducks D what their forwards are doing to ours. Plus, if Ferland has a concussion that doesn't bode well -- 2 concussions in his first season.
