The bottom line is if Hartley does not win the Jack Adams, it just proves how useless the NHL awards actually are.

I cannot remember a coach of any team in recent memory, that was as much a piece of the teams identity than Hartley. I also cannot remember a coach in recent memory that has had so much confidence, and positive things to say about his players than Bob. I don't think he called out one player publicly this year. They made mistakes, and he always found a way to deflect criticism, and praise the players for their positive contributions. Add to that the fact that he made some massive brass balls gambles that paid off, to me makes him a shoe-in.

You can tell the players love the guy, and will go through a brick wall for him, there aren't a ton of coaches that could be said about. Bob's a gem, and the perfect fit for this team the next few seasons at least. I hope this team can get him a cup in the next 3 or 4 years.

Default Does Bob Hartley win the Jack Adams?

If he doesn't win it will be the biggest scam of the season. This team was supposed to be a McDavid candidate, and still made the playoffs despite losing their captain and team MVP to injury. And it's not like they did it by being a trap team and squeaking their way through a bunch of close games. They have played exciting and enjoyable hockey from day one.

It shouldn't even be close IMO.

Jets could have done much better if they weren't so undisciplined and they are obviously further along in their building plus added major players near the deadline when Calgary sold.

Seriously the Jets had the same expectations? according to whom? not many "experts" had the Flames ahead of the Jets

That's what I thought too. Maybe the NHL has a list of the announcement dates on their website but I couldn't find it.

He probably won't be nominated. Evidence of his worthiness was inconclusive.

@Fan960Steinberg: For those wondering, the Jack Adams finalists get named between 4:30 and 5 pm today. #Flames Head Coach Bob Hartley likely to be involved.

The NHL has done crazier things.

Maybe his $50k fine two years in a row makes the NHL not nominate him, so they don't look bad to the progressive anti-fighting crowd by nominating a 'goon' coach.

Honestly, I'd be surprised, but not shocked.

Right about now, any broadcasters that voted for him have to feel pretty good about their choice.

I think your being a bit over dramatic. Hartley has done an amazing job but so have others. If you were a Predators fan you'd likely feel this way about Laviolette.

Without the playoff push I think he would have been in tough to win, but now with the media coverage he's getting I can't see him losing.

Hartley is the winner. Anything else would be tragedy.

Does anyone know when the vote was done? That likely would have quite a big impact whether it should or not.

Could be wrong but IIRC it was right after the end of the season. So just after Hartley's team had beaten LA and made the POs.
