I think April 26, 1981, the night the new Calgary Flames went into the Philadelphia Spectrum and upset the favored Flyers 4-1 deserves to be on that list.

That was a pretty magical time for the beginning of the Calgary Flames.

I don't think that was the biggest game in their history, I'd give that to the Steve Smith night. I do think that it belongs on the list. Perhaps the posters on this site are too young to remember how big that was.

Other than the ones mentioned, in 04 the Steve Montador OT winner game against San Jose was a fun one that kind of sealed the idea that this wasn't all a fluke and they really had a shot to win the Cup.

Nothing beats winning a Stanley Cup period May 25th 1989, to this day Ive enjoyed many Flame victories but winning it all is the biggest high of all.

Of course.

One obvious change is how many people wear jerseys now. When the sea of red started, most fans at the Dome just wore red shirts and sweaters. I doubt much more than 10 or 20 per cent of the fans in the stands had jerseys. Jerseys are just a way bigger thing now than they used to be.

Which raises another issue: Why are fans today willing to spend much, much more on sports than they used to? Maybe I'll start a thread.

No love for Mike Vernon's heroics in Game 7 against Vancouver? Multiple game-saving plays in overtime... OVERTIME. Arguably the greatest individual single game performance in Flames playoff history (Iggy in Game 7 against Vancouver in 2004 also applies).
